Mel
the only thing is you won't get optimum performance
dazzi220
loss of performance and mt is a crap fuel, get tornado 20-25%
Fusion Racing
it will be harder to run in. i would use some 20% as its very easy to run in then and you get good power. dont get MT though its rubbish fuel!

George
i´m back and now i have special break-in fuel : Blue thunder First run from dynamite and 20% R2R fuel from O´Donnell. And they said me, don´t follow exactly DVD from HPI and do not use '' brick '' for first two tank. Just five minute with wheels in the air and than very gently run with 1 litre Blue thunder. Now i hope, than i have the correct staff from good shop. Big T
I ran 2 tanks of fuel through with it sitting on a brick and the wheels up. After spending all that money is it really worth the risk of not following hpi, just to get it done quicker???? Tony
danh
George if i was you i would follow the hpi dvd to every exact word as they know best for their engine.
dazzi220
why does it have to be unloaded for the first 2 tanks?
Big T
why does it have to be unloaded for the first 2 tanks? ← Same as an engine in a 1:1 car, you have to run them in so long taking it very easy. You are actually meant to run them for about half an hour without moving. It helps the crank, piston etc bed in better. It is essential if you want an engine to run at its best and last
dazzi220
really? the menace instructions said at no point during the breakin should the car be off the ground, they even tell you not to rev when in mid air cos it could blow the engine power! George
I´m with you, but why the guy form shop 308 Hobbies(www.308hobbies.com) who sell more off this trucks and also repair, said me this. I know, than i´m novice with nitro, but i start be very angry. I´m not any thickhead. I think than guys from HPI must know what to do. They made Savage. OK. I will go step by step following DVD and if something happen wrong, i have guarantee. That´s it. definitively. Thanx guys.

Big T
Your welcome George. You don't get problems like that with a Savage MH, just don't back off mid loop with them or you end up with a big bang. Like I did. Funny as hell tho Tony
George
Guys you post new reply faster than i finish with my answer. Thanx once more. Let try yesterday who have right. I don´t know. I will believe you.
Big T
At the end of the day George it's best to listen to the manufacturer, so if it does go wrong you can blame them. If you listen to a hobby shop and something goes wrong, hpi would just say that its your own fault for not following their instructions. Once you are past the break in you are going to have fun mate. Enjoy. Tony

It's a very easy way to blow the engine. Don't try to run before you can walk though. You will be fine if you follow what they say.
