Asherz
Hi guys, I have been looking to buy myself my first RC nitro car, and I was going to buy the Hyper 7. But I recently found out a friend has a "Monster XT2" which he bought for £250, I have checked the price and that seems to be about right, and he is willing to sell it too me for £90, he said it's also got a new engine in it which is more powerful. I'm going to go soon and take a look at it, make sure it all runs fine etc, is this a good deal? Is the car good? And is there anything I should look out for when I go to see it? Thanks! adolf hamster
if the chassis is in good nick then it sounds like a good offer, the main problem i found with xtm was theyre engines and theyre spares support, check out hobbystores for the biggest spares list ive found this side of the atlantic
Nitroholic
I've been thrashing an XT2 for the last couple of years and it has never missed a beat. Spares are cheap enough and easy to get. Ripmax are the importers of all the XTM stuff, and they retail them through the Hobbystores chain. Mail order is available if there isn't a shop near you. Check all the usual things: Make sure the servo's are OK, and the engine starts and runs OK. The stock XT2 has a .247 motor, and if it's totally shot, then they are around
JP5000
I'm totally new to nitro rc but can honestly say that for the money xtm xt2 is a great first buy easy to tune and the engine is powerfull my only comment would be spares or lack of local shops that stock spares if your willing to wait online it should not be a problem. Also there pretty robust i've hit kerbs and metal fences at full throttle and it has just bounced off. I'm looking to purchase a hyper soon to run alongside my xt2. Asherz
Cheers for the good advice guys, I will check out tomorrow afternoon and from what he's said everything runs fine. I'll check it out make sure it's not banged up and is in good condition. I don't mind waiting a little to have to order parts in either. If it's not what I think it is, I may just go with a new hyper 7 black
