hi guys i recently brought a royal flash truggy from a guy called micksid on these forums, he brought it from someone else on here not sure who  . He put in a Duratrax Esc with a suitable motor so to start can someone identify the motor i think its a 19t reedy thats all he told me, and im not sure of the specs or anything, also the ESC Keeps cutting out in the middle of a run and the red and green lights start flashing one after the other. When reversing the car seems faster than going forward, normal? everything seems to be heating up quite a bit could this be the cause over heat protection etc? i have a pic so you know a bit more about what im talking about, any advice on this would be appreciated! thanks also can someone tell me the turn limit on the ESC.

The Duratrax Sprint is only suitable for 20-27t according to this which is why your esc keeps cutting out. It can't handle the current being pulled, so it switches off.

To sort the motor direction out, you will have to swap the two motor wires round, which will require you unsoldering them as they are soldered directly to the esc.

You'll have to take a picture of the motor without the heatsink on for someone to identify it. Does it have a label on it at all?

If you're after a new esc, I've seen the Mtroniks Sniper 12T on Modelsport be recommended as a cheap one.

Hope this helps :good:

thanks for the reply mate should i try say a 27t motor and see how that goes i think i have one lying around!

Yeah try a stock 540 and see if the ESC is OK with that then you know you either need to change the ESC or motor

The supplied motor is a 21t, so it isn't actually too bad new; doesn't last very long though.

I am about to get a decent 21t motor for mine, as well as this (http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/index.php?showtopic=56247) gear conversion to stop it from wrecking said motor.
