saulk
Hi all, I have a Traxxas Revo at the moment but want to get an FG Marder/monster but not too sure which one to get. I prefer monster trucks over buggys but have been told that the monster is uncontrollable due to wheelies and is constantly turning over and suffers from bad handling is this true? Thanks Saul
Hawkeye
nope, it does wheely but you can get a wheelie bar for that then your sorted
saulk
Thanks Hawkeye, Does the MT handle OK, I have a Revo, how does the handling compare? Saul
Merlin
The MT shocks are the main problem, its like a beachball out of the box, BUT, drop the shock oil, and replace it with 40wt, and bobs your uncle
saulk
Hi, I take it that the 40wt oil is thicker, does the MT roll alot at high speeds? Saul
Merlin
Its thinner, the standard shock oil is like glue its soooo thick, the shocks don't even work, hence why it bounces alot. Once changed its fine, it doesn't roll at all, just backflips of all the wheeeelies :D
Monstrous
if you want good handling, good stopping (ish), good accelaration, less drivestarin breakages, less overall stress on the parts, go with a marder i have one (check my sig) and it is great, i have the front cable disc brakes fitted and a few other bits and it is massive fun. and marders are easier to sell on than MT's Monstrous
rc007
Merlin is dead right the stock shock set up is way to hard, i found that is was too with my Marder so i dropped the oil to 25wt all round and the handling was greatly improved. Don't know how true it is but i heard that fg put the same oil in the shocks for there off road vehicles as they do for there on road which would explain why is so hard. Monstrous
i might try some 30Wt oil in my marder front shocks the back ones are ok but the front is ridiculous, RC007 i saw in your sig that you are selling your marder?? how come??
