I'm gonna teach @Skyesgaming how to dry brush.  We've each gotten a buggy rider to install in our models and I think borrowing the 'slap chop' painting method from miniature painting is going to get us the best looking results.  short of air brushing at least.  My GF is going to lay down a flat white base layer on hers and paint in some gloss details in her car colours.  I'm going to lay down a flat black base layer on mine and paint in some gloss detail in the box art colours of my car.  The idea of the makeup brushes is to keep the base layer as dry as possible going on.  speeding up the process immeasurably. then glossing with the normal modelling brushes after.  The reason we have so many is there are several different angles, layers and such.  for instance:  @Skyesgaming will be dry brushing the flat white base layer on the riders helmet then touching in some black for inside of the helmet around the dudes face then on the dudes face with the modelling brushes in the skin tone gloss. then touching up the black on the way out from there.  It's complicated sure and doesn't fully follow the 'inside-out' painting method usually used.  but i'm hoping for some fantastic results layering gloss on flat undercoats

I would have just paint the whole guys face black as it would just look like a tinted visor as i would just ruin it anyways running it, nice to see your putting so much effort into detail

Yeh agreed solder an xt60 onto the esc wires and do away with the Tamiya plug

Totally agree.  the converter was just to test the ESC before we break the warranty on it soldering on an XT60 👍All my batts are either XT60 or XT90 and the converter was cheaper than buying an NiMH pack

Bargain that was. I was going to buy it as a runner IF the shell was white. I had a white Scirocco in 2014, it was probably my best ever car

@Skyesgaming was asking if we could build "a car that swaps body's easily" next.  I'm thinking either a TT02 or a TT02B cause they're not difficult to put together and the shell compatibility is nearly ubiquitous at this point

Is it me or does Royal Mail suck the big fat donkey one since the conservatives sold it?

I was getting worried about how high a torque those cheap JX servos were in @Skyesgaming and I's September Tamiya builds. One is 15Kg and another is 21Kg.  So I've ordered a couple of more appropriate ones.

Full size, 6Kg, metal gear servos from Surpass.  If the motor/ESC combo I've got in my 1/8th buggy is anything to go by they should be quite good 😄

Not only that but they're cheaper so I'll buy back the 15Kg from my girlfriend and keep it as a spare knocking about.  Might be able to use it in my WLToys
