J C
Does anyone know the KV rating of the m tronics? Cos i could sell my novak for about 100 or more and then get the genesis
Garry
I've done some digging at I've found a similar looking motor to the Mtroniks one, rated at 5800kv. I'll email the guys.
chilledoutuk
they quote it being like a 12 turn brushed i would then say that its likely to be under 5000kv as my C408s is much faster than a 12 turn brushed and thats 5250kv. remember the general opinion is that novaks motor is more like a 4200kv as aparently they measure there kv withiout load. vectra
I am assuming that if I fitted one of these Mtroniks brushless systems in my mission that i would get a very noticable drop in runtime over now as i use 27t motors at the moment. chilledoutuk
I woudnt say it would be that noticable in my axis 2 the hacker system used to last more that 10 mins on gp3300's if your woried about runtime get some gp3700. Remember though the mtroniks combo will be miles faster than your 27turn stock. My hacker makes my axis 2 4 wheel spin in my bedroom. You can always gear the system down to get runtime back. The most important thing about bruahless (Which i take for granted now) is that every run you get the same performance no wearing coms slowing down your motor. Brushless is like the first run every run. I should be getting the mtroniks controller tomorow hopefully and then all will be revealed about mtroniks genesis Sports capabilitys. Tamiyacowboy
m tronic, hacker, novak all amazing brushless censored/none censored motors and controlers jeti : these are aero brushless systems normaly they onl come with forward/brake NO reverse. in racing i would say a none reverse would be the way to go problem is with soo many systems on the market an each trying to via for your money companys will say our is the best out of the above for a 540 motored car i would go for the hacker of novak these's with lenier are the best of the best hacker would be my choice cell counts are from 6/18 celled packs or a 2/3 li-poly pack the later will give ulitimate preformance at a big cost HTH TC
chilledoutuk
The best sensorless controller around for rc cars at the moment is the sculze u-force 75 couple that with a 6s and on 6 cells you have a system that puts 8 turn motors to shame. The mtroniks is a good controller especially with the latest v1.04 software it can handle my hacker C408s with ease it gets a little warm but then i am running an c408s with quite tall gearing in small spaces. The genesis sport suports upto 4s lipo which is very cool. although i would not recomend running the bundled 5800kv motor with that voltage as at 14.8 x 5800 you would be running 85840rpm which not doubt is over the manufacturuers rpm limit. I am planning to get a feigo of jamie at starluck rc that has 3917kv with this motor you could run 10 cells or 3s lipo and not risk shattering your rotor. In my opinion there is no reason to get the novak system over the mtroniks one. The setup instructions are well lets be blunt s hit. But if you buy the combo then theres very little setting up to do anyways. The bigest advantage with running sensorless systems is the vast range of manufactorers that produce intercompaptible products. If you buy the mtroniks system you can buy any 2 pole sensorless motor to use with it that includes the c40 range the feigo motors the lehner motors. If you cant afford lipo and dont want the wight of 10 sub c cells wighing your car down then the gp2200 4/5th cells are ideal as a stickpack of 8 them is the same length and weight as a 6 cell gp 3300 pack. Nick
Which Feiago are you getting? I have being looking at the 10L to run with 16 cells. Look really good for my E-Maxx. What are you using them in?
chilledoutuk
Well i want to get feigo 400 series motors as for the 1/10th cars they aparently work better. The only downside is that ill have to make an adapter plate for it to mount onto a 540 mtoor plate. (Wheres that 3mm alluminium i borrowed from college) The genral opinion is that the 400 size motors spool up quicker than the 540 size motors. I am happy with my C40 so i tought i would stick with the 400 size. For an emax a 540 probably would be more suited as they capapble of genrating more torque. I currently have the novak supersport in my schumacher axis 2. The mtroniks genesis sport and C40 8s are in my Academy SB 4wd buggy. I have 2 spare sensorless controllers at the moment thats why im inerested in getting some more motors. The problem with all the power you get with brushless is traction and putting the power to the ground. I am currently considering getting a 1/10th truck and fit it with masher 2k's which generate a lot of grip. I was thinking maybe the 400 series 10s which i could run on 10 cells with the genesis.
