😆 was going to post this yesterday

Kevin Talbot??? Was this the one he did the flooded skatepark RC Boat video at? 😆

If a skatepark can't take the abuse from a RC car then how can it handle the abuse from skateboards and BMXs???

But from a safety point if there's kids playing on the skate park and you have a 50mph XMAXX flying around then I can see a problem

Don't think they should lump RC cars in with e-bikes.

RC won't damage that anymore than a BMX IMO

My thoughts exactly

If a BMX crashes into the ground, handle bar digs in and creates a rut....

Rc car? might move some dust or a few stones....

A RC car can do damage if it is earth

Earth as loose soil / grass

yeah I kinda get that it'll be chewing the ground a little.... a bmx on soil as uncompacted will be worse it'll leave a rut - again then come crashing off, it'll do more damage...

But with how often RCs are used in an area, it'd be negligible damage / difference.....

I'd love to know how much damage they think rcs cause?

The way someone explained to me at my local track (they have club practice weekly I believe) RC's remove the dusty loose top off the track and if little kids fall instead of sliding on the loose top they fall on hard/ tarmac like surface (the track is very hard and compacted with a thin loose top and look to be the same as in the pictures). And from personal experience depending on tyres they can leave grooves (my buggy with badland style tyres definitely did) but I do aggree that e-bikes would do a lot more damage

While I think it's silly to lump RC cars in with e bikes I have to admit I was wondering how long it would be before something like this popped up. Makes me wonder how many more BMX/skate parks might take notice of this article and take action against people using RC vehicles there? And will there be any significant consequences for RC users getting caught doing so? I'd like to think they'd just be asked to leave but and maybe it's just my dim outlook on the world at the moment I wouldn't be surprised if at the minimum they start issuing fines to people.

As an BMXer from years back I have to admit I kinda get it, a few poorly driven high power brushless rigs with aggressive tires could make a bit of a mess of lines on tracks, lips on jumps and dirt trails.

Those electric bikes would be worse as it’s some power going through some of them, we abandoned jumps we made and maintained as others weren’t help look after them and they became far too much work once some MXers found them.

Hopefully it doesn’t get daft but that’ll remain to be seen.

was at my local bmx pump track, and decided to look at the sign (only been going for ages)

It doesn't say NO rc cars

but it does say intended for BMX use only

never had an issues going up, gonna keep going up 🙂
