RyanRawcliffe95 Posted March 23 Share Posted March 23 Hi Trying to remove the pinion gear on my baja to get to the clutch but can’t seem to get the nut off just spins? tried wedging screwdriver in the gears to stop them moving but still no luck am I missing something? Dun2504 Posted March 24 Share Posted March 24 I usually use something plastic or another pinion to lock the gears, never a screwdriver. If the nut is turning when the pinion is locked , then the threads have gone and it is best to slit it to remove. If not , then heat it a bit to break the thread lock bond.
