FTX Carnage 2.0 brushless. headlights flash, does nt respond

Hi,

 

I've just purchased an FTX Carnage 2.0 brushless. I got it out of the box to check it worked whilst in my house, worked fine so I put it away ready to take outside. The next time I turned on the car, the main headlight LEDs flash rapidly and Im unable to get it to respond to the receiver. I checked the battery is fully charged and I've put new batteries in the transmitter. I've also tried to "bind" the receiver again but it just stays in bind mode and doesn't seem to connect. 

Am I doing something wrong or do I just need to return it as faulty :(

You put the receiver into bind mode 1st then usually you hold bind button on transmitter then turn transmitter on

Yep, we have run through the bind process several times. I did this when I first unpacked it and it binded within a second, the bind light (green) stopped flashing and the car operated. Now when you try to bind the green LED on the controller just continues to flash with no response from the car.
