HPI releasing a new crawler soon.

Seen a video and it looks to be an old Toyota pickup.

A guy on YouTube took some measurements from video stills and reckons it'll be 1/18th scale.

Don't HPI make a 1/10 scale crawler? From what I remember it was a decent bit of kit but didn't sell well. Are HPI known for having crap parts availability?

they almost went under a while back and spares started to be harder to get but that may be sorted out now

I have been hearing about this new HPI and very interested it appears it may well be a marty mcfly toyota pick up and indeed seems to be 1/18th, i do really hope they pull this of and bring out a TRX4m killer, also lets take a moment to remember why HPI are in trouble

Yes... the hpi venture is a great underrated bit of kit, if you choose the builders kit the you can go own way with electronics and body style. Think most spares are available...but you won't need any!!

From what i have seen on youtube Harley design seems this is the model the new HPI is based on, nice as its not been done to death like Jeep models, if the spec is good i may well be up for one of these...........once i have got round to selling a pile of models, also we dont know if its 1/18, could be 1/12th or ecen 1/14th just to be different

Okay so its brushless with oil shocks and 2 speed transmision bit much more than a TRX4M so on paper its a better truck, lets hope it puts a big dent in Traxxas sales   https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/hpi-venture18-flux-1985-toyota-hilux-sr5-brushless-black-1368185

That looks incredible value for money! I still think 18th scale is a bit too small but that does look brilliant at that price point!

I kinda agree about 1/18th being to small hence i would of loved to see this as 1/14th scale small but usable, i had hoped it would be something i might purchase but i have 5 1/18 sort of size and some of these have to go, including the TRX4 F-150 my FTX mini Texan is now my go to small rig

It looks...weird 🤔

Wheels are too large for a start.

Plus from the side view, there isn't enough body above the wheel arches.  Probably made the arches huge to avoid rubbing on those too large tyres.

So @Tomley RC and Gav @ RC Kicks both have these today.

They look incredible for the money. The electronics and lights especially!

Also, it gave me a lovely little feeling of Nostalgia. With HPI seemingly toppling Traxxas at this area. It reminded me of the Savage/Savage Flux coming out to dethrone T/E Maxx in the early 2000s. I love HPI and genuinely hope for the best for them!

The YT creators are all giving this model a big thumbs up, lots of early praise for it, i would jump at getting the brushed one but its come at a time when im selling not buying but still tempted to sell the 4M and get this new model, but i would lose a whole heap of cash on the 4M F-150 after all the mods i did so will end up keeping it

I cant see why youd go for the brushed one for £50 less. That brushless system is a masterpiece.

For the record I got £130 for my Stock used TRX4M Bronco. It sold within an hour or so so hardly lost anything. Cant you return it to stock and sell the bits?

here it is yes 1/18th scale straight axle still think 1/14th would be a game changer but at least it has clear windows
