Traxxas jato 4x4

Recommended Posts

I quite fancy 1 of these, but i would want to change the power system and sell the bl2s system before i run it as i dont think it would be powerful enough for me and i dont have any 2s lipo and instead of investing in a couple i would be as well upgrading the power system, i have been looking at hobbywing systems but have no idea what i would need i was looking at this but would it be a good match?  https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/hobbywing-combo-max10-g2-140a-esc-3665sd-3200kv-g3-motor-1350919

some advice on this would be greatly appreciated

I did consider the corally syncro as i like the look but aftermarket hop ups doesnt seem to really exist for it looking online and i dont really like the look of the arrma buggy and the notorious breaks pretty much every time i have it out so that is also making me shy away from another arrma product

Why not just buy the VXL 4S version? Traxxas are very sneaky when it comes to there VXL and ‘normal’ versions. They look identical other than the power systems but the VXL has a lot more alloy parts (hexes, brace etc) over the regular one

Yea just saw it had different wheels and a later release date. Just bear in mind the BL2S one has plastic hexes etc so there maybe more differences that need upgrading to handle more power. Sometimes Traxxas put different geared diffs in their non VXL models which can become problematic

I was reading up on it, the diffs appear to be the same, only differences in the driveline that i can see is the hexes you mentioned a centre diff and the propshaft is alloy as opposed to plastic, but being a traxxas there will heaps of aftermarket available for it

Youve done more research than me but its basically a Slash 4x4 which is proven. That combo should work fine, Guessing youd run 3S?

Id maybe look at a 4S system personally? Id probably go for a 6S lower kv system with a 40XX can and run 4S?
