And give their thoughts or experience with one as thinking of parting with my arrma Mojave 4s to fund one and don’t know if they are any good thanks. Gaz!
I’m in the same boat, i desperately want one but would have to try and sell on other rc to fund it. I have no first hand knowledge though. I do think that it would be better than most of its predecessors, the gyro in particular otherwise, id be as interested as you to find out.
turok007
I had the anderson m5 and found that to be very good, so the losi should be fun
wolfie1
Having had a couple of rc motorbikes in the past , back in the 90’s was my first a kyosho kit which i got pretty good at driving, then many years later a thunder tiger nitro ducati which i just couldnt drive to save my life you could be in a huge car park with only 1 small obstacle in it and no matter how hard you tried you were going to crash into it. When the Anderson mt5 came out i thought it was quite a cool concept but never bought 1, but this promoto looks better in every way, my wife was asking me what i would like for Christmas and i gave her a link to 1 of these, so heres hoping and not chocolate and socks and trainers
m4inbrain
Had one for 2 weeks. From my personal experience, the novelty wore off really fast. Yeah, it's cool hearing that gyro spin up (for quite a long time, i want to add), once or twice. It's also cool seeing the thing go down the road and wheelie, once or twice. And then.. well... yeah. That's about it. They are pretty flimsy, so while you can jump them, you're almost guaranteed to break it where the fork connects to the rest of the bike (i can't remember which reviewer it was, i wanna say RC Driver, broke it on the first drive there as well). Completely unusable in sand (i live near a beach), needs a large empty space with maybe a tiny jump, either concrete or dirt as long as there are no ruts etc. Dunno.. Wasn't for me. Twice or so was fun in the parking lot doddling around, but then got old quickly. That said, i'm not into bikes, so maybe someone else gets more out of it. Gaz!
@m4inbrain, appreciate your honesty mate. It has me thinking, maybe look for a good used model with the hop-ups done, even buying from someone like yourself that doesnt get the two wheeled thing, should save me a few quid. But it will have to be funded from selling one of my fleet, namely the X-maxx, i can’t see anyone wanting to buy a mk1 stampede 4x4 for anywhere what i need (even if its fully upgraded) if i do sell the X-maxx i will be losing out money wise big time. always fancied a rc bike, had a Kyosho micro Ducati but you needed a snooker table to be able to run it, had a few goes of the Anderson m5 but it fell over a lot!! now back in the day when i was a strapping young male, i had dirt bikes, a disused pit on my doorstep and had some great fun/crashes doing all kinds of silly things (boys will be boys though) fast forward to now and I couldn’t get my leg over one let alone ride!! That’s where the appeal comes from, maybe i can scratch the itch again??? has to be the Kwak green though, ive had Yamaha and Honda so fancied a change. funny thing is though, this would cost me more than my first real crosser.. 1

I have a promoto and love the thing I won it so didn’t have to splash out£. They are expensive but a lot of fun and cheap to run so far the few parts that I’ve needed have been easy and fairly cheap to get hold of so no complaints so far 6months in

If it is, how difficult is it to drive?? Saw a couple of moments when it stopped, looked to stand back up quickly, does the gyro work as hoped?? Takes 2 minutes to get used to it, and by that i mean "how slow you go while still being manoeuvrable". Once at like 5mph, it basically drives like any other RC but with a huge turning circle. Took me less than a minute to drive it around, the gyro (and stabilisation) make this not comparable to bikes of old. Even my wife was able to immediately pick it up. When it falls over, it generally takes just a bit of throttle to stand it back up again, on tarmac. Most of the times. It will, obviously, fall over below a certain speed. It takes around, from memory, 30ish seconds for the gyro to spool up (and longer to wind down). It is a battery hog (and has phantom drain, so make 100% sure you unplug the battery - don't ask me how i know). The battery compartment is a bit of a faff. It's bigger (and heavier) than expected. It is confusing at a stand still (you turn left on the transmitter, and the wheel turns right - but it's the correct orientation, took me a hot minute to wrap my head around that one). Hm.. That's what immediately springs to mind when thinking back.

Thanks it’s my first bike ! I think it’s fairly easy to get used to. What gets trickier is setting the adjustments to the amount the gyro helps/deals with both pitch and yaw ie how much it leans or wheelies via the rotary dial on controller and the 3 riding modes remembering which is which. You can also limit top speed if hading over to younger kids otherwise always 💯and the crash structure at the front will break because it’s designed to save everything else like forks and frame in event of head on collisions I’ve replaced mine once due to finding the goal post other then that been lucky

Don’t mind the questions willing to help the tyres are vitavon and so are the wheels . You can get proline alternative road tyres however they fit on smaller wheels so have to use proline wheels to and because they are smaller you have to change the gearing and buy new chain . So by getting vitavon ones they are same size so don’t need to buy the parts and I can swap over from my off road tyres to on road tyres without any adjusts and only takes afew minutes. Not come across any weak spots but will look at the head set you mentioned
