Poiz’d T3V2 ‘Killmode’ Cheater Build

Looks serious. I particularly like the "golden accent washers", for the lack of better term. Vanity-bling. 😁

.. i might steal that for the VRD build, albeit different colour scheme for the Dravtechs, mine are orange (and so are the wheels if i can bring myself to spend that kind of money for the Vanquish rims).

Looking forward to seeing it develop. 👍

I got the washers from here https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/175485523831?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=J9GXJBcVSSq&sssrc=4429486&ssuid=-6Iol3f7T9u&var=&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY

The idea is that it’ll all tie in with body colour I’m planning and the scale hardware on the wheels.  But it does involve a painting technique that I’ve never tried before, so it could all go horribly wrong 😆

Cheers, pretty sure i'll be ending up with a few of those too.

What technique would that be?

I’m going to try a ‘marble’ affect with two, or maybe three colours. I’ll do a few practice spray outs first before I risk ruining the body, but I’m looking forward to trying something new.

Good luck on that one, i'll be going "kitten" lol - body is gonna be sprayed 1980s brown, and then get wrapped (so the inevitable scratches/tears in the vinyl leave a rusty look). Bit heavier than i'd like, but i certainly wouldn't be able to spray the way those skins look.

That does look cool 👌

It does - sadly it kind of locks me into the Cliffhanger, but seeing how wide the Stance body is, probably not the worst thing. I'd go cab only if not (what feels like) 95% of all rigs out there were a proline comp wagon.

In case you want to look for some inspiration, these are made by https://www.freqeskinz.com/ - they offer quite a bit for the Optic as well.

So tell me whats the benefit of an outrunner motor?

Better and smoother bottom end torque even compared to sensored brushless systems, mainly.

For me personally there's too many drawbacks (not friends with water, sand, dust/dirt, less efficient at higher RPM), but in a comp rig, it's probably the best system to use.

In this build, space is the number one concern, so a small motor is a huge benefit. You could use a bigger spacer to lift the transmission higher, creating more space but you’d also be raising the CoG with it.
For comp builds the Outrunner makes a lot of sense, but for trailing where CoG and weight aren’t really a concern, I’d stick to a normal style of motor.

Outrunners tend to be used more for aircraft, helis and drones

they arnt waterproof/dustproof and small stones can get caught in them if in a tight space but they are smaller than a canned motor :good:

Yes my dji drone has outrunner motors on it but i suppose it you are solely doing rock stuff its less of an issue, i do trailing with my trx4 so would def be of no use to me, i would have it ruined on its first outing
