Next step from HBX 16889 Pro?

So I bought an HBX 16889 Pro (from BG) at the end of July and have had it in my hands a few days now. I'm an RC noob and I'm amazed at the value & performance for the money.

I can't drive it at full speed, so thank goodness the controller let's you dial things back.

That said, I bought it with my 3 yo in mind and while he's  driving it, I find myself wanting another for me.

So if I get spousal approval, should I just get another? Or might it be worth me buying something that might be considered the next step (in an effort to proactively future proof).  If the latter, what would people suggest?

Thanks!

Any particular version?

It seems the Hyper Go is available in 1:10, 1:14 & 1:16 versions. (And boy did I get confused watching and reading about them until I realised that).

The 16 range are bulletproof, the 14 and 10 ranges have some little issues, I've got a 16209 that's a weapon of choice along side my team associated rival Mt10 which is also a tank (take a look at my YouTube and see how badly we drive them https://youtu.be/CXbcIFz7cGA)

Update for all:

I took the plunge on a 16208/9

(without spousal approval 🙄)

My theory is once you have bought it its yours, and you cannot send it back ☺️

The cure for that is being in a long distance relationship 😇

I know you've already gone with the hyper go.  I will say though my second RC (in this round in the hobby) was a WLToys 124016 V2.  It's pretty good.  Maybe not as good value as they used to be.  But I have a ton of fun with mine on paddle tyres and soft sand

Luckily I don't have that issue with my other half partaking in RCs so as long as all the bills get paid I'm golden to get whatever as long as I get 2 😁

I have asked for forgiveness. I have to wait until tonight to find out if that involves sleeping on the sofa...🤣

Just had a quick look at that looks pretty cool! (I had to look up what paddle tyres are).

I will add to a list of possibles for the future. I can't justify buying another for a while. (I'll be trying to get friends to take the plunge though).

This sounds like a great arrangement!

I'm at somewhere near the other end of the scale 🤣

That's the one, there will be vat ,tax, shipping in top of that but you won't be disappointed, should come in at less than £100. I got mine with the 2 2s batteries, but zeee do larger capacity shortys that fit. Tried mine on 3s and it was mental/ nearly uncontrollable, much more fun on 2s👍

£74.04 with 2 batteries, from banggood (using a discount voucher obtained from my first purchase with them).

Happy with that.
