It was my mate who first put a light behind it. You can see more green where the blue went on lighter in place's and the colours blend, which is kind of the effect I was hoping for in the first place. Just not sure how I’d go about a custom led circuit for it?

What radio gear you using.  I know for a fact that DumboRC do receivers that have sockets for LEDs cause i have one. It's called the DumboRC X6DC. they do it with or without a gyro the gyro has a (G) at the end of the model name.

The receivers are less than a tenner. all of them. and you can pick up a DDF-350 from AliExpress without a receiver for about 30-35 quid

I’ve got a dumbo 350 and a few spare 6ch receivers. They’re the ones without light ports so I was just going to wire them to a futaba plug.

i looked into it a bit and although I could buy a light kit from a different model and make it fit, I think I’d rather make up my own harness. I’m liking the idea more and more but whether it actually comes to fruition I’m not sure.

I managed to find somewhere local with some white and black in stock so I picked up a couple of cans of each. Here’s a before and after of white backing. Really does make a difference.

So after giving the hyper a bit of a battering I’m amazed at how solid this thing is. Unfortunately the shell has not done the rest of the car justice. Lots of flaking paint. Weirdly the white seems to be worse off than the black and orange. I keyed the inside of the shell and washed it out well. Any ideas why this has happened?IMG_2665.thumb.jpeg.32164037249a07953b4bd6f8d573cfff.jpeg

Yes. I’ve got one tin of ts in black. The white was the first coat to go on and I did 3-4 coats of each colour. Is it possible too many coats of paint might take the flexibility out of it?

only if they were too heavy when applied.

That’s probably it. I do tend to lay the light colours on a bit thicker. Not intentionally, I think it’s just because they don’t seem to cover as well. Made the same mistake with the smoke. However the orange is fluorescent and I was probably laying that on quite thick too.
