Remember the chat room, it was either crazy alive or dead during m-f 9-5 --- Nice to see Supporters is still going! It mentions Merch but been blind I'm missing the link to it (or is it supporters only) Not gonna lie, do like a good way to large hoody! Has the discount for the shop passed too? --- How did the hobby survive through the good old Finacial depression and Covid lockdown / cost of living crisis? I assume it took a massive hit --- The forum was wild back in the day (yeah I'm feeling just that old!) How's it compare from then to now? More for @Nickhere, Still working for Modelsport? I'd love to see people enjoying the hobby it was a fun community when I went to the TM bashes, I remember at one point there was a HUGE msuk forum weekend event? It looks better to have 1 busy section than 5 that aren't. So we squeezed a lot of areas together. Forum is still going okay but nothing like before - I think it could pick up again as there is a shift in Social Media that shows people want a community and want to have discussions, not just 5 second videos and scrolling to the next one. However I don't think it will ever be as popular as it once was. Merch has gone just because it didn't do very well, but as above, that might make a return as we see more activity. Yeah Chat died a death a long time ago, I was considering Discord at one point. Covid was nuts for RC, it BOOMED! It was the most successful and popular time for the hobby by a landslide. I still work at Modelsport. 😄 I'd be swayed as I look into getting back hobby to get merch if it comes this way (after mrs maternity pay ends) Chat did go mad at peaks but was quiet rest of the time. Yeah the RC hobby is great, forums I can see why they go quiet.... but yeah tiktop/reddit/fb have taken a good swipe.... but stuff gets lost on them sooo easily 😞 Probably a good jib guides went cause I'm like 99% sure most of my picture are no longer available (photo bucket membership bull - yeah I don't wanna pay) If I ever get to buy a BIG model again, told the Mrs I'm making a Trip of it!
