Looks forward to seeing your impressions 👍

I keep talking myself out of buying one. I've got too many at the moment.

Oh yes i know that feeling, i should really sell the rock van evo and the little 1/18th fireteam clone and maybe the fms fcx24 blazer first, funny i dont seem to run the blazer since getting the little hi trail

I am holding of on the new Utah as i have a few things on ebay...but i have ordered a clear Rock van body so i can complete the van and see how me and the mrs like it as a finished rig.

Incidentally i found out it seems Hobby plus also make the FMS 1/24 and 1/18th models on behalf of FMS

Cool👍 Are we adding the Ftx Utah to this section?

  • Lone-wolf changed the title to FTX/Hobby plus 1:18th Rock-van/Unitrak/Harvest/Utah and Evo pro models

Quite impressed so far.

The servo is three wire.

The receiver and esc are separate.

It has the furitek lizard pro esc and it looks like the same furitek stinger motor, tiny in size and weight but plenty of torque.

The tx is the same as the fms 24 scale model or the ftx mini xp with an Ftx mini receiver.

Comes with a nice little 360Mah battery.

The tyres feel good, especially for an rtr.

I'll get it on the crawler course and see how it does.

I fancy getting the hobby plus rushmore brushless pretty much same rig but more scale, seems its either FairRC with shipping and import or Absima with shipping and import

Yay just looked on MS and they are getting it in so i will be getting this https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/hobby-plus-1-18-cr-18p-rushmore-bls-2024-rtr-cyan-1362786

Gave the evo pro a test on the crawler course.

Box stock it did very good.

It struggled on some on the steep climbs, the front suspension kept unloading.

The two speed is probably good if you want it as a trail truck.

But if I'm honest, low is a little too low and high is just too fast for crawling.

It does crawl well gearing wise, I would prefer a little more wheel speed in low. But that's probably me being fussy comparing to modded Trx4m's.

The stock tyres are very good for an rtr. If you get the brass rings they'll work nicely.

I tried a set of injora steelies with brass rings and injora hyrax copies 64mm so a little shorter than stock.

Wwy more planted on the weighted wheels. Climbs better, definitely improved.

I'm going to try and tune the shocks next as I want to see how good I can get it off the minimum upgrades (, you more than likely know how it's going to end up though 😁).

I think brass portal will be on the shopping list.

I've got some 1.3 brass wheels to try next.

I was hoping the Trx4m brass hex's fit as they fit the rock van. But they are way too short.

Overall I'm impressed, plenty of tuning potential with the chassis. The electronics are easily changed, servo, tx and RX, plug straight in.

Very good value mini crawler.

@steephill i get what your saying about 2 speed on these little trucks, i had my FCC24 K5 out for a spin and low is way to low but high gear is kinda to quick, running this truck i actually think i much prefer the hi trail F-150, it seems to drive much better

I know exactly what you mean and agree.

The Trx4m feels like a proper little crawler. It's like driving one of my lcg crawlers in the way it doesn't feel toy like at all.

Here's a few videos of the Utah.

It's running injora steelies, brass rings and hyrax copies 64mm.

Everything else stock.

The shift servo was getting quite warm, so I'm going to have to work out how to set the end points with the stock item or get it on one of my radiolink.

Mine’s been delivered. Quite impressive for a small crawler . Glad I went with the brushless version as the modulation is really good not downloaded the app yet to play with settings. I found the shocks were lacking in oil so topped them up . Standard tyres felt good but ordered some injora cling ons with injora carbon wheels . Looking at some brass weight now just waiting for stock from Ftx but overall very good crawler would recIMG_7815.thumb.jpeg.e2a64bc6326a000eb14ed1e77ee3a35e.jpegommend

Have been trying things out on the Utah.

I've added some droop springs and shock oil, there was a few drops of oil in the shocks.

I've tried steelies with brass rings, brass beadlocks up front and brass all four wheels.

It does suffer from torque twist quite bad on steep climbs.

I've added max amount of preloaded to the rear and it helped a tiny amount but not much.

Overdrive will definitely help and I think it needs some.

The other option is the V2 rear axle upgrade so you can flip the diff around and use the other output shaft on the gearbox that's reverse rotation.

But it's 47 quid. You can get metal rear axles from aliexpress and other places cheaper but you can flip the diff.

It's only really noticeable on very steep climbs when you have to give it plenty of throttle.

The portal axle clearance is noticeable compared to Trx4m's on certain lines.

the new to me Utah brushless has arrived, sadly the lipo is totally dead on arrival as it had been inadvertently left plugged in so zero volts, easy mistake to make, i have added the brass wheel rings to the stock wheels and tyres so now got 34g per wheel, about right, made some tethers for the body clips but i plan to knock up magnet mounts for the shell, the tiny clips are so fiddly for my fat fingers/old eyes.

Im well chuffed and feel this will be very good on some of the locations i run my trucks
