What’s a tough car…?

Spyder01

Recommended Posts

Hi,

please excuse me if I use the wrong terms, my 11 year old son has a couple of rc cars and I’m looking for another that can take a few knocks. He’s a f1 style one that goes like stink but only on smooth tarmac and a buggy style one but the screws holding the wheels on bend easily. Both are fast electrics. He likes to take it on a skate park (when it’s quiet) but of course it lands with quite a thump. I’m looking for recommendations for one that can withstand a reasonable bit of rough and tumble and where broken parts can be replaced. Looking to spend less than £150 if possible.

many thanks

Tomley seems to rate a few little trucks for bashing round skate parks, might be worth watching a couple of his videos to have a look at what you could get from this lot. Think they are all well within your budget.

If you can find one second hand or stretch the budget, the Associated Rival MT10 is known as one of the toughest 10th scale rc’s

Anything around your budget will be at the cheaper end of the market unfortunately, and likely be weaker than some of the more premium brands/models.

Personally, I would try to avoid anything that hasn’t got spares readily available from your local (same country) hobby shops. Otherwise you could end up waiting a while to repair any damages.
