Losi 8ight 4.0 front axle play

Morning all,

I've decided to return to the hobby after 25 years out so have acquired a used 8ight 4.0 nitro for playing about with and learning.

On first look over theres seems A LOT of play in the front wheels/axles, they move in and out 4-5mm clonking as they do so.

This doesn't seem right so would like a bit of advice from the more experienced amount you.  Is this a normal amount of play in the front of this type of car, if not is there a way to stop it I.e. shimming?

There are a few different places where a shim or insert could be missing on an 8ight at the front. If you search "TLR 8ight 4.0 manual" you should be able to find an exploded view and check if something is amiss. After that I'd think about shims.
