painting body on outside

Hi all, just a quick query

Going to respray some spare body panels on the outside using spray meant for plastic, 2 or 3 coats. Would it be advisable to finish it with laquer and if so gloss or matt ?

Cheers, Ian

Do you know what sort of plastic the panels are made from? If it is lexan/polycarbonate then I think it’s advisable to put down a base coat of polycarbonate paint directly onto the shell/panels before using any other paints (even “plastic” paints) to help it adhere better. Other than that a guess a finish coat of gloss or matte lacquer might make it slightly more durable but possibly not by a huge amount.

Not sure what plastic it is, off an ftx mauler. Have practice sprayed the smallest panel so will see how durable that is

Cheers
