Hello From Devon Newbie

Hi All,

Newbie is a bit of an understatement as I don't pick up my car until 10th Feb! 🥳

I decided to jump in the deep end with a Nitro car, the FTX Carnage NT.  Having so much spare time when working away I was looking for a hobby which involved lots of tinkering.

After reading the forums and watching the YouTube videos I knew Nitro was the way to go.

I think I have the essentials on order:

Nitro Starter Pack / Nitro 16% fuel / Air Filter oil / After Run Oil / SkyRC Engine Heater

Is the engine temperature monitoring as essential as what people say? If so I will order a temp gun 🙂

Looking forward to getting involved in the MSUK Community!

Antony (As there is already an Ant on here 😁 )

welcome to the forum mate 🙂

dont forget engine heater too.

All good on the heater front mate, I went for the SkyRC heater from ModelSport.

Took a while to figure out how to power it (Lots of chat about Lipos and soldering connectors) but I've decided to use my car battery, keeping it simple at the moment 👍

mine is the old fashion one with the car bulb so it heats up quicker imo.

Yeah I read a thread on that set up but these are all gifts for my birthday, an old bean tin might have been difficult to wrap 😂

On work terminal ATM so I cannot open your images, its the SkyRC engine heater https://www.modelsport.co.uk/product/skyrc-nitro-engine-heater-385222

@froggy8 Ah a posh one lol.... cheers mate, i'll have a look tonight 👍💡

i have tried them both and find the one with the car bulb heats up quicker than the one from modelsport, they do the same job though so you will be fine with the one you just bought.
