Sadly an event like this can not please all the people, when it comes to travel to it

Yep totally get that, having run various events before myself I know what a nightmare it can be.

I understand! The MSUK Jams were in Basingstoke 4 hours from me! You'd think I'd of picked somewhere closer, especially when the marquee took 2x runs there and back in my car! Got a van the 2nd year round.

So I'm happy to pick somewhere closer to home this time.

Yeah it's all good and yorkshire is still pretty central in the country so can't say fairer than that. Depending when it is I might be able to do an overnight stay.

There is a Travelodge with Toby carvery about 4 miles away in Keighley if that helps

This sounds interesting, but I don't own a crawler as I prefer "hobby-grade" kit. 🤣

However, if I can make it, I'll bring the Revo, and plenty of spare diffs.

If I can outrun it, I'm not interested! 🤭

It'd be good to have a reunion! A weekend of RC mayhem!

Pretty sure Nick said if it's over 10mph your not welcome.

Yeah definitely would mate and there is a hotel nearby so could make a weekend of it.

Unfortunately it’s going to be a no-go for me/us, I’d have to hire a van, pay a fortune for travelodge, simply have to visit the new Modelsport shop.

add all that up to around £500 for 5 of us.   I’d be happy holding 500 quid for ten minutes as it is now…..

sad really as i was really looking forward to it…

I'm going to checkout a site next weekend then I have a better idea. 🙂

For those pondering about travelling a long distance, this isn't going to be a "big event", more a gathering and crawl for a few hours depending what the location is like, then I can confirm more details.

Nice one Nick, if people are interested maybe we could do more than one but in different parts of the country.

By eck lad that could be a strong idea, set up a few different   crawler meets for a given charity a set time to start and finish but run at different locations

Yep exactly that, that way we could get more people involved and just break it down to parts of the country i.e I could do one for for the suffolk and essex areas or east anglia.

I'd say penistone hill over harden moor (less chance of been a target for one of the flyers and there's more parking available) and there's paths over to top withens (also loads of b&bs and plenty of watering holes)

Went to Penistone Hill (Google Maps link) which @Fred barlow suggested and it's an excellent spot, loads of parking space right next to the action, some really good bits to crawl and challenge us with! And fairly accessible for those not so good on their feet (no scrambling up hills).

I'm happy with this place, so I will now decide a date and let you all know more details on what you can expect on the day. 🙂 Stay tuned!

Photos from today (wish we did it today the weather was amazing!)

If you need any help I'm local and it's one of our bashing spots, there's parking on the Moors on both sides and council run carpark that's a short walk (about half a mile) from the Haworth end, also there's some easier paths for those who aren't good on their feet

Weirdly this is right next to where we’ve booked our Easter weekend trip. Looks like a very nice spot, guess the sun probably helps quite a bit with that.

Not sure I’ll be able to get out to any event without the family (can’t imagine the missus wanting to join in either) if this does happen when we’re up that way. I might see if I can sneak the TRX4 into the car, if there is enough space, and get everyone out for a “walk” round there at some point.

Stick the family on the steam train to have an adventure, there's a nice historical house that's free in Keighley and everything else in Haworth to do (there's even an old fashioned cinema in Keighley)
