Alex's 1/16 Summit trail truck

Recommended Posts

Almost everything arrived, just waiting on the gear box.

Body fitted really well however I did have to add a few standoffs to length the bumper. I need to order some hex extends to push it out about 10 to 15mm. I think the body is a good fit.

"Head removed, heart ripped out, intestines soon to be diddled with." This is pretty much standard with all traxxas cars 😂

You peeled off the inner “peeloff” first right?

Looks decent enough from here though 👍🏻

(there is no inner peeloff - probably)

There was no inner peel bits, I just didn't double check the window masks before I started. The window sticker covers pretty much all of them. The wheel arches are the bits I'm not 100% happy with, they are really hard to line up. I kinda wished I'd masked them and painted them black rather than use a gray sticker.

you got it looking good mate

Thanks, I've orded some 15mm hex extenders to push it out further and the body is slightly wider than a stock summit. LEDs will fit into the bumpers however I'm debating whether or not to add a light bar on the roof.

Dual servos fitted, dual batterys fitted and break lights fitted. My controller has a crawl mode that lets you run two servos without needing to use a Y lead in what's already a very full RX box.  Productive afternoon.

This Is looking great 👍 If I buy one this is pretty much what I’d do with mine, lock the diffs and slow it down a bit .

Thanks, I'm just waiting on the theast few bits before I run it. Fingers crossed it performs well.

Hex extenders? So ive gone to all that trouble converting to a Revo when I couldve just used hex extenders!!

LEDs fitted, the bumpers come with a 5mm holder built in so it's really just a plug, solder and play job.

I've removed the 2nd servo and they were fighting each other, I'm planning on ordering the new power HD tr5 and the spec is perfect.

I'm now just waiting on the 540 motor mount from the states then im pretty much ready to go. I'm using the spare servo as a winch to try and add to the realism.

Is it not worth trying the soft shocks on the trail first? Looking a capable little thing though 👍

Being honest I've got no idea how they should be set up, any pointers from anyone?
