Was really close to getting the older version.   But QC is not good.   Also don't know what spares will be like in the future

Couldnt agree more! These are the exact reasons why i have decided against arrma cars! I had a ecx torment and it was great but getting parts became a nightmare.

Wonder how they price this against the VS Pro?
The Hobao comes with a lot of carbon fibre and alloy upgrades so I’d imagine this will be cheaper?

I doubt it as it's Horizon Hobby plus with the TLR branding I bet it will be pretty high price wise.

TLR (Team Losi Racing) is Losi's "race" division as it were. I think they did this as a lot of people in the states have been getting into racing with their Arrma cars and they might want a bit more adjustability/tuneability for set ups or just to experiment with settings. I can kind of understand why they did it as it's a middle ground between a dedicated racer and something that's more oriented towards bashing. Though my guess is that the price of this wouldn't be far off of the price of a dedicated race kit anyway.

This car will mostly be bought to be broken down and built into speed run cars of some form..!!

The pill adjustment on the upper and lower suspension mounts is what speed runners have been crying out for, I think here in the UK it will all depend on its price wether this is a seller or a flop.

As for parts, let's be honest almost every brand has issues atm and will do going into next year too..!!

I think modelsport and Wheelspin have them listed for £419 at the moment. I wouldn't be surprised if that might creep a little higher at some point though.

Reminds me of that Proton from 20 years or so back, with "handling by Lotus" plastered over it 😀

Guess all the 7075 is going to make it a bit tougher than std RTR 6s, which is good as I doubt many peeps, at least over here, will be buying it for racing. Arrma prob feel the same way - a 'race' buggy with a pre-painted shell? That's going to be a little confusing mid race when half the field have bought one too...

As to its actual worth, I don't think the price is too bad compared to the RTR version, max8 combo and gt3c and you have a lot better spec (on paper at least) for not a lot more folding.

That Proton’s handling really was by Lotus though, and while it was a bit lacking in refinement, it was known for being a lot more fun than the Golf GTi of the time.

I’d still have bought the Golf, my point is just that the handling they referred to on the naff stickers was very good. It would be nice if this was the same, but we’ll have to see. If it’s a competent cut price 1:8 race buggy then good for them. The racing crowd will have little patience for quality issues though.

  • 2 weeks later...

Finally one good 1/8 Buggy Roller,  *ready build*  Just throw what electrics you want.

Great for those who got extra ESC and Motor left over also.

This is a must have for me.

I dont like build cars / kits.

I love Rollers .

This looks great.  Alot better than the RTR Typhon in Many ways.

I will buy one before Christmas 100%

I have 20kg servo and 4268 motor already for this, and extra Futaba receiver,

need just buy one 150a ESC like MAX8

This is happy news 4 me.

Been waiting for a good 1/8 new Roller Buggy.

The Hobao is so old.

I really believe this will be great one.

My Local hobby shop carries also alot Arrma parts and Cars in stock.

This is great for they who hate build kits from scratch  like me.
