Hi,

 

Has anyone done the below to increase the steering deflection and reduce bump steer?

 

The only issue I see is by using the inner knuckle holes for the steering link it will cause the wheels to turn inwards slightly.

Does anyone know whether the Coyote High Torque servo can run 6v or the 7.4v on the HW 1080??

I found out the servo is only good for 6v.

Update on the Coyote 2.1.

 

Upgrades installed so far include alu steering link, long alu servo horn, battery weight, hex wheel weights, HW1080, Absima Cr3p TX/RX, skid plate, fender kit, roll bars and LED spots.

 

Been good fun on the woodland trails and will be venturing up to Dartmoor soon to test some tor climbing.

 

Few picks from yesterday and one from the home course pre lighting.

 

Only thing remaining is a spare wheel in the rear bed and shocks/servo when they need replacing.

I managed to fit a front and centre skid plate for an Axial SCX10.2 I believe. Had to bend them a bit and use some extensions on the front but came out okay, hopefully the pic works…

Thanks for the responses. @AndyMB that's what I'm after. Is there specific one on Ebay you went for, I assume if for thr Axial should all be the same?? At the minute I have some old mercano pieces as a plate but looks a bit naff!

It was just a generic set of four skids for an Axial. Front, centre and both axle ones. Axle ones don't fit. I think it was around £15 for the lot. I used Sakura D4 steering rack extenders to fit the front one to the chassis.

It has arrived! 
First thing I did was remove the side stickers, altho I should probably have tested it first.  Thankfully, it also drives okay! 🙄

I have a HW1080 and a 20kg Power HD servo on order, but they were intended for the SCX.  The 1040 and the servo from the SCX were then going to go into the FTX.  I guess I'll stick with the ARC-1 and see how it goes.  The RX is definitely getting swapped, as that massive remote is ridiculous!

Other things..  metal wheels, make up some LEDs, get a metal steering link, maybe give it a respray.

Quick update.

 

Been busy today with spraying the bonnet, decals, fuel tank, spare tyre, body clips, antenna and winch. Also added the LED extender so using the RX 3rd channel rather than 1080 program port. Mocked up the front skid plate ready for the weekend task then we're done.

Have to say i am really warming to the black Ford F-150 313mm..........but as i have the blue 324mm i cant justify it

I swapped the RX today, and noticed a label attached to the motor wires that said to change the motor if using a LiPo?! 😯

 

I'm assuming no-one else has bothered to change motor. Why would it say to do that? Really bad translation for 'change ESC setting'?

The motor is fine with 2s lipo, in fact they are pretty decent motors

How good are the shocks on these? are they smooth and do they leak?

 

Also has anyone tried their upgrade proshocks 2?
