Popular Post Alex97
The plan for this is to do the odd bit of racing and keep it semi stock (within the rules of the whatever club I go to). I picked this up on eBay for an ok price however it was in a bit of a state when it arrived so I fully striped it and cleaned all the parts (smoke really sticks to tamiya parts). I tried to remove the yellow paint however i was struggling to remove it all, replacement chassis is already on order. In the meantime I decided to try and save it so a can on mat black spray paint was the answer. 30° heat really helps speed up the drying time! I'm happy with the results, no idea how long it will last however at least it looks cool. Current upgrades ordered - Bearings Oil shocks One piece 3 racings arms X-ray servo horn (stock Tamiyas are rubbish) M05 hubs ESC wise I went for a 1080, motor is still TBC and I'll be using a low profile servo that I already had. I'll be painting the body light blue and adding some gulf stickers as I'm really a fan of that livery. Alex97
I had an hour free this evening, hubs and links attached. For this I went with M05 hubs, they are a direct fit and improve the geometry a bit. Hopefully I'll build the shocks over the weekend and get the ESC fitted, for the motor I'm thinking tamiya toque tuned.
Alex97
Shocks built, two holes in the chassis drilled for the cables and now all I need is to pick a motor and solder it up. 30mm turn buckles have been ordered so I can get rid of the crappy stock ones.

Thanks, for the money you get a lot. The shocks are £30 and you get a range of pistons and about 5 different sets of springs. I originally had the fastrax ones and they used a spring clip to keep the o rings at the bottom in place, I had three fail on me before I'd even used them so ended up getting a refund.

I put the Yeah Racing shocks on my TT02 SR build I did last year, ...the equivalent Tamiya aluminium shocks were, well, shockingly highly priced! 😮 😀

Alex97
Teams V3 motor fitted, just waiting on the braces and new steering links. The hollow chassis makes hiding the cables very easy, after you drill a few holes.
Popular Post Alex97
Finally done... A few bits aren't perfect however overall I'm happy with how it turned out. I still need a new bumper and to add adjustable turn buckles. I'm gonna get a new chassis next time I make another order with MS. I also need to order a load of m3x10 hex screws to get rid of the stock ones. Edited August 14, 2021 by Alex97

Popular Post Alex97
New servo mount has been fitted. The stock wasn't great so I ended up using the yeahracing adjustable one to drop the servo about 4mm down so it's pretty much touching the chassis. I've ordered a rear chassis strut to stiffen that up and I'll also be fitting the quick release battery tray, I've also orded some mini lite wheels to finish it off. Overall there isn't a great deal left to do on this.
Alex97
50mm rear brace arrived, 1mm washers are on order as I need one each end. This would help with rear flex.
Alex97
The car is pretty much finished, bar the quick release battery parts... I started counting the "upgrades" and got this far - - bearings - hex screws - oil shocks - battery holder - servo mount (same position just metal) - servo horn (xray) - cvds - carbon fibre braces - carbon hollow shafts - 3 racing arms - M05 hubs - adjustable rear camber - better steering turn buckles - upgraded king pin screws It's pretty much still a standard m03

I've ordered the parts to build another m03 as I've already got quite a few of them, you can build one for well under £75. Popular Post Alex97
I've decided to change this into my Inconic Cup car to enter into the m chassis class at the westlondon race later this year. The most common setup seems to be this Rs200 body and the car set up in 225mm wheelbase setting. The car remains pretty much unchanged underneath.
