Due to poor weather conditions I wasn't able to get any footage over the weekend. I did manage to get out with the car at one of my local parks on sunday, but for literally 10 minutes. The ground was just too wet & muddy. Completely sodden. So I decided to cut my run short, head home, and proceeded to spend the next 2 hours cleaning it.     After a 10 minute run.     D'oh

Fortunately the weather has been a bit better this past couple of days, and I had the day off work today 😁 ...which doesn't happen often! So, we ventured out into the cold this morning, and with the help of 'cameragirl' we managed to get some decent clips of the ZD. And with my poor editing skills i've managed to put together a little video for you lot. Filmed mostly on the roads nearby our house, and a couple of short clips on the village green. A brief offroad test. It was quite icy out there today but this truggy seems to handle it really well. The tyres have a solid amount of grip (considering how wet it still was) especially on grass which you can see in the final few clips of the video.

So I ran it on my 3S Zop Power 4500mah 45c lipo first, and then switched to my 4S Zeee 5200mah 50c. I hope you enjoy watching.

Side note: Forgot to mention this in the video, but the reason why the wing isn't fitted is because they supplied incorrect washers

(the holes are too big so the heads of the screws provided go straight through 🙄).

It can certainly shift

From what i've seen in videos, they hold up fairly well ...time will only tell. I'm just eagerly awaiting the next dry spell of weather we get so that I can go out & give it a proper thrashing. Whatever happens, good or bad, it'll get posted here. But I have high hopes for this RC.

So I haven't been able to get out too much with this beast lately, but luckily we had some really nice weather over Christmas & was able to get out for a bash on boxing day morning.

I was joined by one of my good friends, who's just getting into RC's himself, and together we managed to get some  decent enough footage of our little bash session. So i've put together another short video, for you guys. Starting off in a grassy park running on my 4S Zeee lipo, then a bit of messing around in a gravelly car park. Also thrown in a few entertaining clips of my friends XLF X03 (cheap 1/10 scale truggy) for good measure. Hope you enjoy the vid 👍

I'll be doing an overview of the ZD in the next few days & there'll also be a skatepark bash video coming soon... so stay tuned!

Merry Christmas.

I have one of these sat in my wishlist on Banggood. But without the electronics as I want to build a straight line speed warrior buggy/mini monster.

I know it's not the best foundation for that, but it would be boring and typical to do it to our WL 144001, and my Xinlehong is pretty much near limit with its 3S, 2845 3930KV motor on its stock (but modified) ESC...

Ambitious and perhaps silly of me, but how difficult would it be to get one of these travelling at 100mph? I have a Radiolink 6ch with Gyro/ABS on the way, and am happy to chuck in whatever motor and ESC I need...

I guess the real question is how good is the drive train?

Hi there mate, sorry for the slow reply. Merry Christmas & Happy New Year! 🙂

Personally I don't think that this RC is capable of 100mph, but it can certainly travel at some decent speed. 50mph is doable with the stock gearing & running a 4s lipo. 60mph+ is easily achievable if you switch out the esc for a 150a instead and run that with a 6s lipo. (can be see in one of TomleyRC 's off road speed car videos). That's also on stock gearing though so I imagine if you fit a bigger pinion you could probably get 70mph out of it. You'd need decent wheels & tyres that are up to the job aswell though.

The drive train seems pretty good so far. I haven't had the car for too long but easily ran about 40 packs through it. It's all holding up well and no funny noises yet so fingers crossed but I think all of the gears are pretty strong & durable.

Hello .

I would like to know if the car is strong or fragile.
Gracias!

Buenos tardes Nutria!

The car appears to be a well thought out design with pretty decent parts and a good quality build all round. It's been durable enough in my hands so far and it's had its fair share of heavy bashing sessions without any breakages yet. Time will only tell how good it will be after long term use & abuse, there's bound to be something that breaks as there is on all RC's, but so far it's done better than 3 other models of mine so it's a winner for me 👍

Thanks James, since my last comment in this thread I've put a lot of thought into it.

I'm looking at the ZD BX-8E + 4274 motor + 150A esc, I guess even if I don't break the magical 100mph barrier with that setup, it'll still be a right hoot 😁

Ah okay, nice one. That's the buggy version, right? You'll probably stand a better chance of hitting higher speeds with that model so I think that's a solid choice 👍

So hopefully this video will give you guys a good idea of how it performs. Me and a friend took a trip down to one of our local skateparks a few days back. The ultimate durability test of a concrete skatepark! Aha. I didn't push it hard by any means though, but now I know it can handle this sort of bashing it means that there are many future skatepark trips to come! Brought my WL Toys 144001 along with me aswell and my mate also had his XLF X03.

So here's a little edit of us having a good ol' bash with those 3 RC's. Enjoy 🙂

Does anyone know what is the difference between the model with the black engine and the one with the orange engine. Only the power in the technical sheet varies a little, and the body of the car. Which of the two is more worthwhile and will be the best?

Did you find the difference ?

Different wheels, different motor (it also has a motor fan whereas the 9021 doesn't). Possibly a different esc as well (150amp instead of 120)

You said « where as the 9021... »

but from what I see both are 9021 no ?

on aliexpress one is red and the other is black. I can also see the different wheels.

i do not know which one I should order !

Just go for whichever one you prefer the look of. They will both perform very similarly.
