Great to see this progress, those bits of brass are helping, it looks like it doesn't need all the low cg stuff you have it prepped for! Excellent driving!

ahhh nah deffo needed it this is it now

Haven't updated this thread in a while, still running the old keeper, few mods and hopups, ran a couple of sst's with her. The idea at the start was to run ifs, gone solid to keep eveything in balance. Overall happy with the gatekeeper tho i will go through whats not been great.

The tires are better on the rocks now they are scrubbed in.
Using ftx outlaw rearshocks to get extra travel, the stock gatekeeper ones suffered from to much load on the plastic endcaps and they pop off 😞 otherwise smoothest shock out there. The ftx ones are superdurable never had one fail on the outlaws.
Running a rearwinch mounted to the fuelcell.

The rear axel housing has already broken once, they snap at where the shaft meets the diff pumpkin.
Also gone through 2 sets of ring and pinions, one in the ifs kit and another in the front axle, the sintered stock ones are not the strongest, been alright since, keep an eye on the small input bearings any slop the ring pinion will slip and strip out some teeth.
Stock driveshafts arnt the best design, plastic ends are the weak point but at 30 a pop they aint worth being the failure point they also self unthread more occasionally then you would want (diff cup cvd screw) these fall off and your looking half a driveshaft for hours, replaced eventually with the heavy metal driveshafts i used on the highrock, some grinding needed on the diff cup to allow it to seat the grub screw.

Running full treal front hub hardware very heavy, worth the money for performance gain.

Have to have super long shock standoffs to ensure clearance through the full travel.
Specing a 45kg 7.4v steering servo and 32kg servo winch.
1800kv axe isnt the fastest, best suited to the highrock, quick enough and 4 hours a pack runtime is great.
Full overdrive, Does improve climbing ability, downside this has worn the front driveshaft cv's condiserably as it drags it fat ass along.

Things to keep a close eye on would be the diff input bearings, service these regularly.
Greenslime the shocks often to keep then amazing, they do leak oil after many miles.
Put a slipper on the spur gear, this is the failure point, the plastic locker can be used, add a slipper pad from any 1/10 scale to stand off the locker and allow it the spin when under exessive load.
