I was hoping to see a actual pic of what’s coming.....

I'll keep a look out 👍

According to Modelsport on FB, the body is pre-painted ☹️

"We’ve no official picture or price as yet but we had to share our excitement that Tamiya will be bringing out a #fordescortmk2 kit on the #mf01x chassis with a pre-painted rally body!! Expected late January, more info to follow, as soon as we get it"

Without a doubt on the to buy list. Shame it's not out for Christmas, makes it harder to justify in January 😅. Wonder if it will have rally arches or road spec.

I really hope they follow up with a MK1, I always thought they were just a little prettier than the mk2. Not that I would turn down a mk2 though!

and almost 1/12 rather than 1/10 all put me off.

It's almost bang-on 1/10:

Wheelbase:239mm/2407mm (-1.7mm error)
Width: 163mm/1596mm (+3.4mm)

Length 397mm/3978mm (-0.8mm)

Height: 151mm/1398mm (+11mm)

The Escort must be far smaller than I remember. This is an excellent chassis, but not very big at all.

Its got a wheel base of 239mm, so i think you can use the Tamiya M-05 chassis, at 239mm, this is a rear wheel drive chassis!

M05 is front wheel drive, even numbered m chassis are rear wheel drive (m06, m08).

It does look nice, i do like that its pre painted, price is about right, but im just not a fan of tamiya, i recently got a TT02 Subaru but having run it a few times im still not sure its staying, shame as they get the look just nice, but the scooby is aimed at rallying and it fails on the off road
