Lone-wolf
Looks rather interesting, clean looking chassis
Alex97
Shame it's on the wrong chassis, should be rear wheel drive!
TWINSET
Should be a lot bigger, made of metal and glass and run on petrol too

I'll keep a look out 👍 According to Modelsport on FB, the body is pre-painted ☹️ "We’ve no official picture or price as yet but we had to share our excitement that Tamiya will be bringing out a #fordescortmk2 kit on the #mf01x chassis with a pre-painted rally body!! Expected late January, more info to follow, as soon as we get it" Edited November 11, 2020 by TWINSET

danny boy
Without a doubt on the to buy list. Shame it's not out for Christmas, makes it harder to justify in January 😅. Wonder if it will have rally arches or road spec. I really hope they follow up with a MK1, I always thought they were just a little prettier than the mk2. Not that I would turn down a mk2 though! bigoggy
I guess Tamiya have seen how many bodies L and L are selling, and jumped on the band wagon. I would have been interested, except pre painted, wrong chassis, and almost 1/12 rather than 1/10 all put me off.
danny boy
Good news! The body is available on it's own as a clear shell. I have pre-ordered mine, had no use for an MF-01X in all honesty. https://www.modelsport.co.uk/?product_id=1334539&fbclid=IwAR02HL3Fp6ave_f7v4d6azwQwGpGj13_qZOScbT6_3V6FG_ANAkxVwZpvuY

quardo66
Its got a wheel base of 239mm, so i think you can use the Tamiya M-05 chassis, at 239mm, this is a rear wheel drive chassis!

This is an excellent chassis, but not very big at all.

M05 is front wheel drive, even numbered m chassis are rear wheel drive (m06, m08).
quardo66
ok, quoted wrong chassis, but the principle is the same, M-06 would fit and be scale also, maybe even adapted to drift.
danny boy
First picture from the Modelsport FB page. Looks decent, maybe a little squished, like it's not as long as it should be? Minilites look good though.

Lone-wolf
It does look nice, i do like that its pre painted, price is about right, but im just not a fan of tamiya, i recently got a TT02 Subaru but having run it a few times im still not sure its staying, shame as they get the look just nice, but the scooby is aimed at rallying and it fails on the off road

Stormbringer
would have looked a lot better being a MK1 Escort i never ever liked look of the MK2
Popular Post danny boy
I like the mk2 just as much as the mk1, so I really don't mind the model choice. But I do wish they chose to do a standard shell instead of a full rally prepped shell. I'd have painted it red and done a replica of the car below.
