Yeh. Can turn them fine. Full lock each way

It’s looking you need a new servo ,you might get it replaced under warranty.

Plenty of decent metal geared servos on eBay for around £10

Anyone know where to get a new set of turnbuckles from. Snapped one straight away.  Wouldn't mind getting some upgraded ones but not sure what is compatible.  Will probably need some new rods aswell as I had to partially destroy one to get the threaded part of the turnbuckle out.

So what's everyone using for shock oil?  Used to running an FTX Outlaw on it's stock oil which is described as '400#' in the manual, whatever that is.  I like the squishyness of the Outlaw although in reality it could do with a slightly thicker oil.

The Maverick MT is way heavier when holding each in each hand so I guess it would not be appropriate to replicate the Outlaw.  But the Maverick's suspension is next to useless when stock, it hardly bloody moves.  Before I throw a wodge of cash on random oils I'd be grateful for any tips.👍

Well, I bought a range of shock oils (great speedy delivery from Modelsport) to try. Tried 900cst which felt looser than the stock oil. Bit in the end I filled all four with 550cst which makes it very much more flexible and even aruns with a bit of sag. How really good now over rough grass but I can see that 900cst woild t least be required to do jumps to help stop major bottoming out. Running a bit more pre-load with the 550cst oil too.

Also switched the shock mounts on the (rear I think) to stop the springs rubbing on the arms. Luckily I have an FTX Outlaw and do was able to swap and check that the mounts from this would work in the Maverick. Used two and some longer 18mm M3 screws to secure. No more rubbing springs😊

Hi all, I'm new to RC.

I bought the MT and broke the suspension arm within 15 minutes of its first run, woops!

I managed to find what seems to be the last 1 in stock in the UK but until that arrives, I've bodged a temporary fix so will see if it holds out when I take it for a spin later.

I superglued it back together and used grips to hold it in place for a few hours. For extra support, I've cable tied it too 🤣

Held up very well and I wasn't taking it easy either although my mates has just broke in the same place, same side.

Thanks for the inspiration tomr, the truck looks great and the videos were fantastic!

After watching I couldn't resist repurposing one of my sons old toys for a bit of fun.  It's a work in progress all on the Quantum flux and admittedly a little heavy, but the look on my kids faces as I rolled it out at our local park and track was priceless.

2 cars, one for me and my son, 3 snapped rear turnbuckles... they're definitely not great.  Bought these - https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B0839K1YGK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_image_o02_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 - not massive use, but so far so good.  Just need a nut to space them out past the shock properly.

Hi All,

Here is our Flux with custom stickers...

The story so far;

We have been using the car until lock down and love it, but being built to a price a few things have broken / bent.
The hubs have bent so the wheels wobble and the rear wing mount has snapped. Looking round the net / Youtube these are common problems and I have put in larger diameter washers as other have suggested and looks to better support the hub & wheel.
The suspension damping is non existent out of the box and lifting off the throttle often results in cartwheels, replacing the shock fluid has improved that, I used 425 sock fluid as that was on hand but will try 800 next.
The shock shafts are soft and a bit bendy, need HD version or alternative.
After running in very wet conditions the bearings and pillow balls had surface rust, Colin @ RC Bearings has helpfully put a kit together;
Ordered .5MM M5 washers and 20mm M3 from him as well.

I see the Maverick have released HD upgraded hubs and shafts; I hope to get me some!
I don't want to sound negative, its great fun and the kids love the wheelies, once these small issues are resolved it will be fantastic.

Does anyone have suggestions for stainless pillow balls 11mm OD, 10mm ball width,14mm from height inc stub, M4 thread, M3 hex.
Or upgraded shock shafts L55mm length, 3mm diameter .

Cheers
Ian

I've wanted one of these for a while. I was always going to go for the XT version but I ended up buying a brushless FTX Carnage instead. The carnage hasn't really lived up to expectations so I wanted something else 1/10th scale to pretty much replace it & decided on one of these. I have to say it looks really nice, I look forward to testing it out tomorrow once its stopped bloody raining.

I got this truck like 2 weeks back and only been able to run it twice, on the first run i snapped the tow links which I easily replaced with some cheap ones off amazon.

on the second run i snapped the rear left axle off and haven't to been able to order and off the HD ones off modelsport as that arn't in stock.

overall i do like how this truck performs its fast topping out at 35mph on 2s and it still pops rolling wheelies which I was impressed with for the price

hey I have the stock MT flux axles and the HD ones aren't in stock in the UK, I was wondering if these wheel extenders would fit so I don't have to keep straining the axles and maybe buff them up a little. if anyone has any idea plz let me know.

Hi All,

I am no expert, however from watching other YT videos it looks like the weakest point is where the axel exits the outer bearing. Maverick have used small washers that don't fully cover the  hub / bearing interface. The small washers act as a fulcrum and the hub bends at that point. I swapped the installed washers for M5 that much better support the hub, from Screwfix, £3 for 100;

https://www.screwfix.com/p/easyfix-steel-large-flat-washers-m5-x-1-2mm-100-pack/871ft

These 12mm hex set have grub screws to fix the hex at the desired position, probably the best solution?

https://www.modelsport.co.uk/axial-scx10-narrow-12mm-hex-set-aluminium-4-/rc-car-products/371130

I also did the Shoegoo & scrim tape the strengthen the body shell.

Good luck

Ian

I've had to do the same thing with my Quantum because of this issue. Luckily it's a simple fix, but a bit annoying as I only found out about this problem when it happened to mine. The left rear axle got really bent & warped after a bad cartwheel tumble. Only the 3rd time out with the car aswell 😣. The HD axles are still out of stock everywhere at the moment and looks like it's going to be about another week before the restock. One of those irritating little weak points of an otherwise very decent RC (for the money). Maybe they'll sort it out for future batches of these. It's only 4 washers at the end of the day.

I agree, any easy fix !

Im really happy for the money paid, and once the initial weaknesses are dealt with will be an awesome basher.

It's very fast with terrible lift off cartwheeling oversteer, I have replaced the fluid and it helps a lot, but have test fitted some 1/8 buggy front shocks;

As things bend / brake I plan to replace with 1/8 buggy stuff, shocks, turnbuckles etc.

Cheap and beefy!

Which shock oil did you use? I've been thinking about changing the oil in mine aswell as both front & rear feel quite stiff and the truck is bouncey and unstable on landings, but wasn't sure what cSt/wt to go for.
