RegisteredUser
This seems like a good first topic for me. I searched the forum for one and found one that was made in 2011. I think a new one is in order! I've worked for Crossrail for the past 5+ years as a 'Survey Assistant'. I've probably met over 1000 people on the project. But not one of them was into RC. Not surprising but still a little sad. My job doesn't pay too well. However combined with my living situation (living with relatives and sharing bills), I get by rather nicely. If I wasn't a big saver, I could spend £500 per month on the hobby and sometimes I do, haha! Funnily enough, I don't actually have a lot to show for the money I've spent. Turns out that crashing is costly! What do you do for a living and how does it effect the hobby for you?
ostewart
I work here: http://www.hifiheadphones.co.uk/ I'm a headphone reviewer in my spare time, so it's my ideal job and I love it. Surrounded by headphones, giving advice and also writing articles for them. Due to living costs (me and my other half are renting, and neither of us are on big money) I don't really have funds for RC and I haven't been out with my RC for about 5 months. But at least I have a job I enjoy, plus the fact I have no qualifications means I'll never be in a top paying job. I used to live with family, and had more cash to spend, and I did go a bit OTT on a few builds, but I can't afford to do that now Edited February 14, 2018 by ostewart

mond
I quit my job last October, determined not to commute to London every day. So far It's worked, although I'm still looking for something. I call it temporarily retired.

Look after 76 multi million pound residential apartments for the rich snobs in London for 12 years now and yep it’s sucked the life out of me but love it at the same time, also like the tips I get which in some cases is my daily rate and the call outs is my weekly wage so does have its perks at times Edited February 14, 2018 by kenny_st
PraetoR
I'm a Scientist, who specialises in marine mammal research and conservation, currently as a freelance contractor. It's not lucrative, anymore and I often struggle to make ends meet, so I may very well abandon this career and work on-shore. Maybe try and realise my childhood dream of being a train driver. Although, that's nigh-on impossible to get into!

I also work for the Railway (LNW Route), there's a fair few people I know in the Railway who are into the hobby. Fortunately there is one in my office, and a few of the lads take an interest when we discuss toys or have one shifting across the car park

Oh How Original
I guess my title would be artist. Unfortunately doesn't really pay the bills, just a bit of pocket money, but my last piece sold to a collector in Spain via Saatchi art gallery and most of my stuff is in the USA, Canada and Italy, here's to hoping it picks up properly one day!

I did some flying training at Oxford back in 2008, back when it was OAA - think they were Seneca 3’s back then!
