johninderby
Have ordered a Tamiya Sport Tuned 380 29T motor for the Yeti Jr. The stock motor is 40T so the new motor will show a fair increase in speed. Will it be fast enough? We'll see. John
Gaz!
Looks great in the vid, could be a nice pocket basher I reckon.
johninderby
Think the new motor will just give it that bit extra without having to resort to brushless. Now just to wait for the motor to come from Japan. By then will be able to cut the lawn shorter so more room to run. John
johninderby
Tamiya Sport Tuned 380 motor arrived from Japan. Simple and cheap upgrade. Really notice the increase in performance over the stock 40T motor. Jumps way better. Compare it to the earlier vid posted. Oh How Original
Definitely doing a bit better with the newer motor. I suppose they aren't really made for big jumps etc... Same as the 1/10. Out of interest John, which parts of the drivetrain are locked and which aren't? Curious as to how they compare to the 1/10 and 1/8.
johninderby
Quite an increase in top speed and acceleration. It's not fast but fast enough. Wouldn't want to go brushless without replacing the plastic bits in the drive line. Jumps level and although it'll never do big jumps it's enough to have a bit of fun with. Surprised how well it runs in grass. Tyres are very soft and grippy. Excellent little back garden basher. Front and rear rear diffs are open and centre locked of course. Nick R
Looks cool! Been trying to find one but struggling to source. Would you be willing to sell yours at all?
James.S
@Nick R This thread is 5 years old bud, and the OP hasn't been online for 4 years, so I think it's unlikely.
