supersavage
Oh I had a Combine and a land rover with it's attachments on a trailer and the obligatory cyclist 😂
supersavage
I'd say £40 is well worth it for that extra piece of mind.
James.S
Has anyone else seen the CBR1100R kits that they're now offering for the Honda Groms? I think they look kinda cool

James.S
@steephill I've always really liked the HRC livery as well. So much so that I have a plan to one day get my Hornet painted in that colour scheme. So mine is an older model, a 2003 Hornet 900, but I think it would look very nice with a paintjob/graphics kit like the bike below (a much more modern Hornet but similar shape) Interested to know what you guys think? steephill
@James.S Nice bike mate👍 I reckon that would look good mate 👍. I like the HRC paint schemes. They look subtle. Some of the race replica stuff looks too much for me. Nice bikes Honda hornets. More than enough power for the roads and comfortable.
Popular Post Nitroholic
On the subject of all things Honda ...... my stalled shed project has got fully underway now I am no longer constrained by a shed, but own a fully functional spacious and weatherproof garage space! Took one scabby and unloved CB750F2 of 1978 vintage, threw away some tatty aftermarket rubbish ( high bars and a rotten king and queen seat )it is slowly coming along. re-chromed forks, rebuilt with fresh seals and rubbers, repainted lowers and yokes. Fully rebuilt brakes, painted with high temp caliper paint and put togetyher with stainless pistons and new seals and dust covers. New brake lines and a master cylinder rebuild kit finish that off. New shocks and a repainted frame and swingarm. Fuel tank was in great shape.....after I removed huge amounts of filler that had hidden the badge mounts. I expected to find dents...but it was near perfect under the filler! CR750 pattern solo seat has been modified to use the stock hinge mounts and lock....so I can open the seat. Repro side panel to fill the one that was missing....and I made a fibreglass extension to the tank to fill the gap between the seat and fuel tank, mimicing hte look of the long CR750 race tanks without ruining a very good condition one. Rear master cylinder was beyond saving.....and to keep the race look...I have picked up a set of CBR600 pegs and hangers along with rear M/C .... will make some plates to fit the original mount points, and have a ganuine HRC rear reservoir setup to go on. The pic shows the wooden mockup peg mounts. Still have much to do on the motor and exhaust system.... I'll look in to how much it might cost as we enter the spring/summer season. Yes, they are indeed 😄 . In my eyes they're one of the best choices as a road bike. Plenty of comfort due to the 'sit up & beg' riding position along with the wide bars. Plenty of horses & torque from the 1997 Fireblade 919cc engine, enough to pull power wheelies in 3rd. But also sedate enough to pootle around town and not be in any sort of discomfort. Lastly, it's a Honda, so you never have to be concerned for reliability. Mine has 51,000 miles on her now, and mechanically she's still perfect 😁 The only thing it's not great at is long motorway journeys. But it does help to build very strong neck muscles 😛 What do you ride mate? Edited March 10, 2022 by James.S
Bigjimknickers
On the subject of Honda.. went to a customers house last year & saw this tucked away in the garage, flat tyres, no mot, all dusty, turned out it was her late husbands & one day she’d sell it. A deal was done, fresh fuel, my Gts battery was swiped & took my 6-1 compressor & hey ho! I’m a proud owner of a DCT NC750x 2017!

James.S
@Bigjimknickers There you go mate 👍 Nice bikes those. My grandfather had one for a while and he said it was amazing for long journeys. No achy arms/legs or sore bums! Great wind protection too
Bigjimknickers
I’ll be honest, I like the looks, love the colour, but it’s a commuter bike & not really for me, I’m looking at trading it in in the spring I just don’t know what for. possibly a Tracer 900 or an MT-07 I’ve heard they are nuts! nothing is really catching my eye at the mo.
steephill
@James.S Yamaha Fz6. I sold My Cbr600rr last year. I wanted something more comfortable. I have been using my little Benelli tnt 125 for shorter trips around town. Does about 140 mpg and is really easy to get out the bike shed. Great for filtering.
James.S
@steephill Ah nice one mate, the Fazers are great bikes 👍. Wow I can only dream of that sort of fuel economy... I'm lucky if I get 25mpg out of mine 😂
Bigjimknickers
My fleet- took the Vespa for an mot yesterday then decided to take the NC out to look at a few jobs rather than my 2.2 transit custom, doing 29mpg… Edited March 16, 2022 by Bigjimknickers

Popular Post PraetoR
Bought myself a project on Sunday; 1992 Kawasaki GPZ 305. It was in the process of being converted into a cafe racer, but the previous guy butchered it, a bit! His home-made exhaust system sounds awful and it hits the rear brake lever! But, hey... it'll be a fun project and it was only £500 with a whole heap of spare parts. This'll be my first "big" bike (as in, anything that requires more than a CBT), so I'm very excited!
