So my Mrs loves Queen, she also used to enjoy Lego many years ago, I wondered is there a Queen related Lego set I could buy her as a bit of fun/nostalgia?

Not sure how it might go, guessing maybe some kinda stage area, not really sure, I did have a look on Google and found mostly pictures of custom sets, also found some figures, but nothing much else.

One option would be a custom Lego Art Freddie, like the Beatles portraits.

Does that come in kit form or something you just have to figure out for yourself and hope you buy the right bits lol.

A few years ago I sold some 60kg of Lego from my childhood, made quite a bit of money back in fact, sort of wish I still had that now.

I believe Bricklink studio has a thing in it that tells you what pieces you need for a Lego mosaic.

That could prove very fun indeed :D

Bricklink Studio is easy to learn and fun.

Designed quite a few models with that. Including my beer wagon for the train.

Rail Zeppelin train, A railroad bridge and an air compressor to pump up balloons. 🙂

You could create your own Freddie mosaic.

If you load a picture of Freddie and put it on the base plane (all the dots in the picture above).

Then you can choose flat tiles from the left and a matching color from the right.

Once done upload it to bricklink and create a wish list and do your parts shopping on bricklink.

With Studio you could also create instructions and let your mrs have the fun of building without knowing what comes out.

That is very very helpful information, thank you.

I also like the idea of getting my nephews and nieces some fun pictures to creates.

I suspect it's probably quite pricey though and not easy to just 'do' the face ones.

Studio is free.

Parts can be pricey of course.

But 99% of the tiles are on the lower end of prices.

But then there is still the Ali option. 😉

To design the mosaic should be easy.

Match tiles one by one to the color of your picture.

But can be quite tedious...

Instructions again are another thing.

You need to group pieces into steps (left of my picture).

Each step should contain about 10 pieces and then be a page in the instructions.

Also will take a while.

You can always ask me questions if you need.

Don't be lazy. :nono:

Or would you ask me to fix your RC cars for you as well? :scared:

There was a time when I had to spend lots of time with Studio because my kiddo asked for new special models that he came up with.

Now he just wants me to keep maintaining his RC cars every time he goes bashing.

But trust me, creating your own Lego models with Studio is really fun.

Perfect lockdown activity.

Just kidding anyway :P RCs I can do, it's learning new software I hate.

Unfortunately I am not stuck at home with lockdown so that's no excuse for me

I will take a look, I downloaded Studio anyway, I may very well send you a PM so we don't spam this thread with my noobie questions.

needed a Lego fix on a very rainy day, workshop is too cold, so I have commandeered the dining room table with one of the first lady’s craft mats...😆

I love them.

The old style Lego Technic models.

We got a few of them and they are really playable.
