Eleccy Stadiums

Recommended Posts

Had a look to update myself, want something to throw about and perform well. I have a good budget, so feel free to suggest. If it isn't a 1/10th Electric Stadium I'm not intrested. :)

Here is a few:

RC10T4

Sportwerks Raven (New?)

Any others that are about? Rustlers are dead cheap but I didn't like the rear gear box configuration. :helpsmilie:

Yep, sorry, should of explained.

The plastic gearbox and the meshing, I found pretty poor. It would slip. I tried washers and it just mushed up the plastic even more, the motor would slip and strip spurs.

It wasn't to good, when jumping and dropping it about.

Why not rear gearbox?

EDIT: posted at the same time as you.

What about a twin detonator? Two motors, lower it easily, cheap

Or a TL01b with Twin detonator wheels. Wheels are a direct fit, the whole car ends up extremely light, and you can change between 4WD and RWD quickly

I didn't say I don't want a rear gear box.

I don't like the RUSTLERs quality of the parts used in it.

Twin Detonator is a no, considering I have a Supermaxx already. rofl

TL01 is Tamiya, insta-no.

What's wrong with Tamiya? I haven't had any trouble with mine

It doesn't matter how reliable and durable they are to some people, many just see them as beginners car with no use to that advanced hobbyist (we can both agree that's not true ;) ). You can't even argue that they are slow, or that they handle badly.

EDIT: and they have a poor range of upmarket stadium trucks... ;):P

WEll the 3 main stadium trucks are the rustler, the T4 and the losi XXXT.

Out of them the best is probably the T4 becuase Losi parts are hard to come by in the UK and you already said you didnt like the rustler.

There is also the Duratrax evader, but that is even harder to get parts for.

If you want to see what a T4 can become, check here:http://www.rcuniverse.com/forum/m_2977889/tm.htm

There isn't alot of choice. :(

Maybe I should consider a buggy. Not sure how well they go across grass though?

Depends what type of grass, if its cut short, then they're fine but if its longer youll lose a bit of speed.

If your looking for a cheapish buggy, take a look at the Academy ones, they're good pieces of kit, especially the pro one. And theyre also 4wd.

Other than that its the Associated B4, the Kyosho Lazer or the Losi buggy. :good:

What do all the racers use Garry, at meetings? Is there any competition models abit less known out there?

If I was to put a powerful motor in, the drive train would need a looking over. So not much good if I can't upgrade just the drivetrain.

'Truck' racing is dead in the UK, everyone does 2wd or 4wd buggies.

The gearbox will be fine down to something like a 8t or 7t, as long as the slipper clutch is set properly.

2wd, buggy, go for the B4, Factory Team spec if you can afford it. Only the Losi XXX-CR will come near one.

4wd, theres a lot of choice.

BJ4x4

Yokomo MR4BX

Losi XX4

X-5

TTech X10

Academy SB v2

plus a couple more.

I don't really want something that can go to the moon and back but thanks for the suggestion James, lol. :D

What is the X-5?

I'm only looking at £200 max. Don't need carbon fibre or anything fancy. What is the Academy website/shop?

The actual site is www.academy.co.kr but the place for spares etc is www.dms-racing.com
