Here's my daughters mystery machine...

holiday2011264.jpg

Built it for her a couple of years ago when she was 9.

Runs on 2s lipo.

Shaggy has fallen out more than once!

Not done any mods as it's not needed the way she drives it!

She still enjoys it-great fun these trucks!

Unfortunately, I'm no longer a LB owner, but here's some chassis mods in case they're of any use;

Alu shock brace - 'real' shocks fitted, then used ball stud on shock-mount bolt for alu brace

img169_16082009182500_1.jpg

Rear-end brace - Alu brace fitted to shock bracket

img169_16082009182500_2.jpg

img169_16082009182500_7.jpg

'3rd shock' using Tamiya TLT link bracket as anchor

img169_16082009182500_3.jpg

img169_16082009182500_4.jpg

Shock-ends for body mounts

img169_16082009182500_8.jpg

This was a 'before' pic. The 'after' is just too upsetting to show - suffice to say, LB jousting plays havoc with bodyshells :boohoo:

Lovely looking Lunchbox... possibly even my fave one so far!! :)

Just a quickly... while your strut brace looks tidy, having ball ends on will still allow the body to laterally flex (top separate to bottom)... it may be better to have something which has solid end mounts more like a real strut brace.

The ball ends weren't for the balls used, it was a 'ram on' job - more from necessity than design though. The struts were spares-box cobbles, whatever else I'd have used would've had gobs of Tamiya slop anyway :rofl:

The chassis endured some real dog's abuse through it's short life;

2 bodies were ripped from their mountings

both front shocks had their tops broken off

The wheels had their beads smashed off in crashes

It's second incarnation had a EZRun 8.5 brushless in it

And all the struts worked great :thumbsup:

A front shock after three batteries;

Looks nice m8 the top brace needs to be bolted as it will just pop of been there but if its just for show then looks gr8 ;)

After rigourous testing (mindless abuse), I have to respectfully disagree

The truck went thru two bodyshells, one set of front shocks, 8 wheels and one gearbox and that brace never popped off once

Pic by TC member _4-0_

By this point all the outer beads have gone from the wheels

Same chassis, second shell, and this time brushless

Pic by BiggusDitchus - note windscreen leaving the vehicle!

I went with bolted in the end as come of afew times so did a m8's and i think the bolted looks better with chrome rod ends and chrome dome nuts....
