Next up is fitting the pinion, battery tray and electrics, modding the shell a little bit and then bash

Something which i never got around to was making a chassis brace for it, which goes from the two holes on the rear gearbox to somewhere on the chassis, you could always make it out of some threaded bar and some rod ends, will make the chassis nice and stiff then, esp if your bashing it:)

I was thinking of hiding the rx in the battery box at the back... Keeps it protected and more space on the chassis....

It seems pretty stiff ATM but... Your right it will need reinforcing, it's being sneaked into the house tonight, so I can CAD some parts up and have a computer model too :-)

Exactly what i was going to do, its ideal having the box on the back, if you have room though pack the box with some sponge to protect the receiver from bad landings.

MMM CAD dont suppose you have a cnc machine also :), im after a custom carbon fibre chassis making for this project

Are you going to fit a spoiler to it also? Would look well with that shell, hellfire wing mount would fit nicely i think, and a ansmann high downforce wing. :)

It's funny you say that... I was speaking to my mum today about building a proper workshop in the garden, I was so close to buying a pillar drill, I was questioned on the size of them earlier and have been given (virtual) the go ahead to do it.... CNC is next on my list... I might try and build one myself (doesn't seem too hard if I'm honest)...

I can cut carbon now (I have a carbon saw blade for use on bicycles... It's my job lol) but you have to be very careful and very slow, otherwise you risk tears that can cause delamination....

Ive seen a fee videos on youtube of diy cnc machine, i think its the ultimate tool, would make so much use of it. If you ever get one set up i will make use of your CAD and Cnc skills, i need loads of parts making :)

Enjoy the rush project mate, i will keep a eye on it, im away for two weeks now so hopefully when i get back you will have finished it :)

Well afteri managed to order the right pitch pinion but with the wrong fitting, a quick trip to my engineering friend and we solved the problem... A 2mm copper insert

Attached a battery quickly to test it and boom, it's alive
