Ian S
Looks like a great job like that its clear and you can see througt them and looks good with the socks not seen them before. Good to here shocks worked well, racing went well last night and sway bars worked well in reducing roll over a lot less, if i put spacer in shocks like you said think will got it sorted
luke662
thanks Ian Glad to hear the racing went well. what sort of positions did you come in.

luke662
Have you thought about getting a carbon top deck and maybe doing the battery bar mod I mention earlier. It stiffens up the chassis loads and makes it feel a lot more snappy. The weight loss is negligible to be honest but in my opinion it makes for a better "drive". Ian S
Have got carbon top deck front and rear towers but have not done battery plate up grade shocks after second go as managed to puncher the rear shock thought not worth doing battery plate
luke662
you can do the mod with the stock battery plate. Just get rid of the nylon posts and replace with the steering posts. I included the part number further back. As i had the tool out from making the shock tower i decided to take a drill to my spare chassis to see what sort of effect a little trim here and there would have. My "stress test" is to smack the chassis off the corner of my desk. only one part gave way but only because i drilled the holes a little too close to one another. I trimmed it up and made it a little tidier. Any body interested in doing this, I suggest you leave the servo and ESC section be but the rest of what I have done is perfectly fine with no adverse effects. Update: Fitted to my car now and it seems as sturdy as it did before. I suspect this won't really be noticeable when I'm out and about with it but if I do enough little mods like this it will add up. It was free so it's no loss to me. Edited April 28, 2012 by luke662
Rhum51
i like the idea but i'm not interested..... ! these mods dont suit bashing imo! or my driving! anyways..... i have a mission for you... today, i went to try my new bmx ramp to do few jumps... the vantage was flying and landing perfectly flat! however.... i missed 1 take off, went sideways and hit THE tree! so... i bent 1 front shock, broke upper deck plate, and front chassis plate. i had all spares so i dont mind but i dont really want that to happen again... Your mission if you choose to accept it...: come up with a design to reinforce the front chassis plate.... if that beggar had not broken, the top deck definitely wouldnt have broken... not sure about the shock! Ian S
Can't you make metal one like front and rear towers
Rhum51
Can't you make metal one like front and rear towers probably.... just want to ask my mate only when i'm really desperate or when the design is ready! lol ...i've already got another request to him for another car! i'm after some ideas for now. luke662
Funny you should mention this I was pondering making a centre diff conversion for my buggy that would require a new center plate to be made. Though the parts would be pricey so i packed that idea in. I'll take a look at the car and see if i can think of anything a little more robust. luke662
Can i have some pictures of the broken parts? so i can see where you mangaged to break it. I've literally just picked up the car and have an idea that would reinforce the gearbox housings and allow you to adjust the rigidy/flex of the chassis. luke662
Ok, I only have paint so it's not the best drawing in the world but im sure you will understand the basic idea. I will draw the chassis brace design later. edit: i would suggest using 5 or 6mm lexan for this as it would be a lot more rigid than say 3-4mm Edited May 1, 2012 by luke662
luke662
Part 2 get something like these... http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hobao-DOMINATOR-Truck-Chassis-Brace-Bars-NEW-/300692339117?pt=UK_ToysGames_RadioControlled_JN&hash=item4602a8f9ad these would mount to the chassis deck as pictured above. To mount them to the gearboxes a small plate would be made that bolts between the two bulkheads. (the top right of the below image)
Rhum51
here are the picture you wanted... i like the idea of bracing it with brace links from the diff gearbox. we could actually use some spare links from our vantage!
luke662
I didn't realize you meant this part. Boil up some water and put that in it for a while. it will soften it and make it slightly more flexible and less prone to fracture like yours has here.
luke662
Does any one know what the difference is between the vantage and carnage chassis. The carbon ones appear the same but the carnage is cheaper. The parts for the center shaft and such are the same so i assume there is no difference to length. graxon2001
The Carnage chassis is one piece, whereas the Vantage has a main chassis and a front plate that screws on. Also, the centre driveshatfs for the Vantage and Carnage have different part numbers, so I don't know if they're different lengths FTX6265 for the Vantage and FTX6334 for the Carnage. luke662
Just boil the water and leave it in there until its cold again.

luke662
What shocks are you running there, I've not seen any silver bodied ones like that before. PM me your address and I'll send you along a turnbuckle if you need another one.. The shock towers look nice mate. I'm not familiar with the vantage plate from for the blast. Can you send me a link please? Edit: never mind I realised you mean the LRP Blast parts. Edited May 2, 2012 by luke662
