Baja5B
spur gear and pinion gears are fine, fitted a stronger 8000RPM clutch spring, after putting that on I was reving to half revs before the wheels starting spinning and travelling very slowly, could it be that the clutch spring is very tight and will it weaken over time and sort the problem out? is this the problem or is it somthing else? thanks
stebro
Could be a dog bone pin, Busted gears, rounded wheel hex or broken clutch. Best way is have a quick look at what doesn't move when revved up. Or it could just be you not givibg it enough revs to get it moving Edited February 27, 2012 by stebro
norcoforever
have you only revved it to half way as on a stock engine thats roughly when the 8000k clutch kicks in or is this at full throttle?

Or it could just be you not givibg it enough revs to get it moving the gears are all fine, wheels arent rounded or the hexes broken, must it be the clutch? so nothing to do with the new spring? and what is the dog bone pin and where is it :/ please? and no i gave it a good 5-10secs on full revs and it was only travelling very slowly have you only revved it to half way as on a stock engine thats roughly when the 8000k clutch kicks in or is this at full throttle? i tryed full throttle for a good 5-10 secs
stebro
Dog bone pin it the pins that go through the dogbones ( driveshafts ) these can break. If it moving slowly i would say the clutch isn't engageing right, i.e it isn't opening up correctly to give full drive

stebro
No really. Could be something stopping the clutch from opening. The clutch bolts may have not got a washer in the right place. I have a 9500 rpm spring so thats real tight but i have no problems moving

stebro
If there is no meat left on the pads then you do need a new 1 and this could cause it to slip. Get it off te baja and post a picture

Try rcmodelz They stock most baja bits and are quick . clutch should be about £20/30 . shouldn't be a problem to change the shoes. Just get them the right way round(there is usually an arrow for direction)
