What did you do to your model today?

Yeah I was wondering that as the 6s Mojave is a nice truck and seems to be left out of the updates so far. I was looking at one but as I have a UDR I couldn't talk myself into it so I talked myself into a 4s Mojave 😅.

The easier maintenance of the Mojave draws me to it but if it wasn't for that, I would have a UDR all day!

Mojave does seem very overdue a refresh though and it feels like a bit of an era for rally cars and trophy truck releases.

Yip the maintenance is a pain on the UDR but after a few times it's easy enough, the main thing is checking the rear diff as it being locked diff wears out every 6mth for me. I've put GPM steel gears in see if they last longer 🙃. If your not after ultra scale the Mojave 6s seems be the way go this 4s glides over the bumps so the big one gotta be as good 😊

Love a rally car but cannot find one a like or cannot get a body I like to fit it 🥲.

Took the PTG-2 rally for an early skid about in an icy carpark.  Got through 2 x packs but something broke right at the end and there is a lot of resistance in the transmission.  Diffs feel fine individually so not sure what that is.  Feels worse when pushing the car backwards!?  Hopefully just a small stone or something like that.

Think that is 3 different cars in a row that have all broken in some way when taking them out 😣

Got a free morning so jumped straight in to seeing what was up with the PTG-2.  There was quite a lot of dirt under the spur cover but the resistance is actually from a dead 3652 Hobbywing!

Sounds absolutely horrendous with no load and may have been smoked a smidge.  First motor I have killed and this setup is not highly strung, and the motor barely gets above warm.  Even the battery packs are only 2200mah so I am surprised this was the first to go!?

Decision now on whether to go up to 4000KV from the 3300 that is in it now??

I didn't box any of them up to send back to Traxxas because there's thousands sunk into them! They're staying with me!

I genuinely wonder what the solution is in that case. I dont have it now but Im guessing my Emaxx wouldve been affected that literally hand thousands and thousands of pounds worth of Unlimited Engineering bits on! Although tbh it wasnt usinf the Traxxas slipper

Tried to strengthen the sketer body with some adhesive and drywall tape instead of the usual shoe goo (even though i have some). Seemed good at 1st so left it to full set for just over 24hr. Went to gorilla tape it up and end up like this..

Shoe goo make the shell bombproof but i just ain't got the time or patience like I used to. As you said gorilla tape is spot on and so much easier 👌

Stripped the Mini Maxx down ready for new electronics

What do you have on the upgrade list for the mini? 🙂 i tried it on snow/ice - lots of fun, so far ill keep it stock - maybe when the snow goes away ill think about upgrades, but from what i have heard - it doesnt like more power - front/rear diffs die instantly... Unless you add some clutch gear system.

I put aluminium bushings and steel shims in the diffs. Have run 4 3s packs through it and given it some abuse. All good so far🤞

is it still controlable? It has rather short wheel base - spinns off easily.

It’s always on its roof! If you turn the punch down it’s much more controllable. I’ve got the centre diff and a wheelie bar on order so hopefully that will help.
