What did you do to your model today?

I used Axial Silicone Shock Bushing
Z-AXA1356 at the top of the towers and then some washers at the bottom with longer screws.

 

The shocks came from Jennys RC

Took the Big Rock apart and as expected, the rear input gear was totally trashed.  

 

I forgot how much muck gets trapped under the motor mount.  Should have checked on that far earlier.

 

Does anyone use any specific wipes when working on stuff like this?  Know in the US they have their CowRC wipes which look good and didn't know if there was a UK equivalent which is kind to plastic and bearings.

Not sure if it is a weakness on these as this is the 2nd one it has eaten in a couple of years.  Wasn't jumping or anything when it broke either and one minute it was fine, the next it was clicking like mad.

If its similar to the typhon i made a thin rubber gasket to seal off the bottom of the motor mount, other people at the club seal them with grease or silicone

Decided I didn't want to stand out in the cold ripping the bashers about so in my infinite wisdom decided to go and hang around a wood for four hours with next to no wind cover and get blasted with cold winds and rain on and off for most the trip out 🙃

 

Still loved every second was well covered up apart from me finger tips, I need get some good rc compatible gloves.

When Im fishing i put the chemical hand warmer packs inside my gloves and that works quite well in keeping my hands warmish

I have a heated jacket that i wear this time of year to go out with the rc’s but there is 1 thing i think all these heated jacket companies have overlooked, heated gloves that you just plug into wires in the sleeves of the jacket, having this option would have 100% made me buy that particular brand of jacket over any other

Finally pulled my finger out and got the protective coating off and stuck the decals on

Finally fitted the lights into the bumper

and unclipped the power cable so it's easier to plug the battery in

 

Now to see about getting the diffs regressed to try and increase the power been put down!

Had a parcel from modelsport today, which was unexpected as I only ordered it yesterday morning. Spent a couple

Got started on the blitzer beetle 😀, these tamiyas kits are well fun to build I can see why some of you dudes build them now. Instructions are easy to follow and fit so nice ...so far 🙃.

 

Yes I know building on carpet is asking for trouble little things go missing but it's comfy down here 😀

Some rubber glove treatment for a couple of cars destined for a UK beach when the weather gets better.  Hoping a double layer is enough to keep the receivers dry when they get hosed down when back home! 

 

First car was fairly easy as the receiver just needed shoving in a panel gap but the 2nd I had to move the receiver location and then hope the VHB holds well to latex.  Time will tell!

Got the main build done with added random electronics I had in the draw 😀. Forgot how smooth this 1080 ESC is and found the program card and turned off all the crawler options but this traxxas servo is crazy slow even on 7.4v thinks it's out my trx4. Had to pop the body on see what it looks like and I love it, it's staying on the bench in my room tonight so I can stare at it 🥰

Started off the maintenance on the UDR, it's a job and half these things are good thing I love it. Front all done just needs putting back in..sooo many screws for just the front 🙃 and seems I've collected most the sand from the quarry where I run it, it gets everywhere!!

Put some savage xl wheels on the maxx to run it in the snow, was keeping a close eye on the temps as they are really too big but the added ground clearance def helped

Took the Mojave out around the quarry it drifts like the UDR if you push it but sounds like a rattle can when it's bouncing over stuff doesn't have the beef of the UDR but it's just as much fun 😄 and found some ice to slide about on.

 

And the inner cage thingy ma bob keeps most the **** out 😀 probably about 20 packs in and I really like it, I can why these Arrmas are popular. Only let down is the plastic pivot balls 🤮 reckon they had to save money somwhere they already wearing out.
