This afternoon’s little project…

 

I picked up a cheapo (£8) alloy steering set up for the Summit, the plan is to only use the dual arm to get rid of the flexible stock part, also I’ve always thought that metal on metal contact is never a good recipe for a consistently working servo saver. Plus the stock front part is pretty beefy and doesn’t really need replacing imo….

STRC (used to?) Make a single Alloy one for the E Revo 1.0 Im looking to pick up. 
 

However, Im trying to stop “upgrading” RCs and using the money to own more, break then upgrade is my new motto

Flip your Summit, grab a wheel and steer it, mine was like a wet noodle, this plus a washer in the servo saver is a game changer when running a big kg servo 👍 

 

Ive seen the STRC one, but it would be £25+ with shipping

Got this very old Tamiya up and Running......................... needed some basic Bits + Esc was playing up, but all sorted.....  its nice to see her fully functional now.

Changed some motors around and went for a little crawl.

 

AXE 550 3300kv fits into the highrock with custom mount like a treat, got some wheel speed now!

I recently bought a set of 1” alloy beadlock wheels and tyres for my new Eazy RC Glacier and found that the front inner tyre walls were rubbing on the front steering hubs, so I bought a set of 7mm hex drive spacers to give a little clearance but the deep reaching wheel/hub nut is a smaller thread than the original driveshaft thread 😏

Today i decided to finally approach the dreaded fiddly motor change on my scx24. It all went better than expected , might even say smoothly and the results (so far) are great! it now runs much more quietly with a ton more low speed modulation. I've yet to test it on my local beachfront concrete/sandstone course the council have unknowingly provided but so far so good! Old parts are pictured also , I've kept them in case i total something , not because the wife says i'm a squirrel

It's m class the tt02 wheels would be too big. Might see if I can find a suitable set though.

Took 4 dead servos and got 2 living ones.
Hoboa 101 servos take the 102 gears, just need to swap the pins and top cover.
The mind blowing thing was the etronix 30kg servo gears went into the powerhd 18kg servo perfectly! Really chuffed about that as the power hd ones dont seem to brown out / burn out motors.

Have you upgraded the esc to do 8.4v or are you running a bec?

 

Fixed the leaf springs proper on the tf2, turns out the leafs from a fasttrax trailer are a 1.1 replacement, as it lost its wheels, the trailer also makes an excellent bed, looks better than a plank of wood anyway.

Also put in a spare esc / motor, repaired servo and radio, now RTR if it doesn't sell least its usable once again. My only brushed rc.  🤯

Finally fix the issues causing the diff to cut in half, the bearings have melted through the diff casing, so added more bearings 😂
Bent stub axle was replaced with one from my Hyper 10, another thing that is basically a 1.1 spare, how lucky!

The front splitter was flexing and dragging, added the weight back to the front and made a little plate to better support the bumper that holds the splitter, rock solid and ready for some real testing, the new gearing is simply terrifying.

on 4s....It's got a 6s esc 🚀
