Cracking job that will help the rear stop wobbling as much 😃. I stick rubber O-rings either side of pivot balls that helps to tighten it up but your job is much less of a cowboy than mine 🙂

Popular Post MrCake
Early morning trip to a beach! Lots of fun as no one was around but in my current trend, both cars broke mid session. HPI has chewed a spur I suspect, and Wltoys has something broken in the rear diff as it ended up being front wheel drive under load. Not sure if the paddles are to blame in both cases!? The wltoys has been to beach a couple of times with them on and was fine. Will be rolling out the discharger in either case that we all love 🤣
MrCake
So following on from a bit of a fail I had a full 2s 5500mAh pack to get back to storage. Chucked it in the FD-200 and set it to 15 amps out of the 5/10/15/20/25 option. It took 8.5 minutes to get back to 3.8 per cell with no hint of heat. Definitely pleased with the investment as that would have taken hours on my charger!

What's your cleaning process after I know sand can kill bearings etc
MrCake
Yeah this one is around 45 minutes from me so not too bad. I have a car dryer/blower thing so they will both get blasted by that. Wheels will then come off and everything will get a spray down from a garden pump with just water in it I then blast them again with the car blower which will get them fairly dry. I use GT85 but spray it onto a round detailing brush and then paint it on anything metal which saves the cars turning into an oily mess. They then come indoors and i stick them on a low camping table with a dehumidifier blowing at them. I will then strip down wheel hubs to check that the bearings look ok and maybe another brush and blast for any rogue sand granules.

Popular Post Rat-Matt-RC
Took the Defender out myself today, only to Tickton as I had a second agenda... Had a play in thicker, deeper mud today as well as water which was bloody good fun, so been having a clean down now. I also cut some hazel logs to start making some home obstacles, no idea what I'll do with them yet, but I have a few ideas rattling about. Tickton is great for it, plenty of straight hazel and it grows quickly so I don't mind grabbing a few lengths.
wombat
Once again, sorry if I'm being a pain, but where at ticton , was it on the riverbank just past the bridge ? As for building obstacles, have a look on the YouTube 👍

As for building obstacles, have a look on the YouTube 👍 Ahh so there are two spots I like to go. The first is, on the Beverley side of the river, you walk between river Hull and Barmston drain, towards the square woods on the map circled. There is a metal bridge over barmston drain and it's that little wooded area. The middle section normally has various pools, but today most of it was one big pool haha. The second is, on the road to Weel. Follow it down and if going towards Weel there is a small parking spot on the left handside, which has a footpath along the woods, which you can get into both sets of woods and that's also a good spot too. Not been there with a rig yet, but on my to do list. My map shots may not be the best 😅
wombat
Cheers for that, always looking for new spots. Have you tried Humber bridge country park, hassle foreshore or even Paull foreshore and the riverbank near the fort, they can be good 👍 👍

Cheers for those too 😁 My biggest restriction is I don't drive, so public transport all the way for me. But I have a nice soft case for the Defender so that's not an issue. I wonder if it could be an idea to start a thread, like the meet up section, with a list of good local sites for people to peruse 🤔 unless there already is and I haven't seen it yet. Partydaz
Fitted a spare brushless servo to the Maxx for superior steering authority!, had to file the servo horn down a bit to get it turn full lock. Also made some drive shaft cover boot things for the UDR rear drive shaft, yes it's heatsink but i'am cheap and wanna see how long they hold up 😁.
wombat
I like the drice shaft boot idea, will be trying that on some of mine 👍

Using thicker heat shrink doesn't allow the drive shaft ends to pivot much so ended up locking up the drive line just about 🤣. So lesson learned use thin heat shrink so your ends can wobble 🙂
Stormbringer
yep you definately need your ends to wobble
Popular Post TommyC
I’ve been trying to make a gps protector for a while now. Ive been struggling to come up with something compact and without any hardware required. Finally getting to design I’m happy with but this TPU filament is a bugger to print with.
Popular Post Lone-wolf
stripped and cleaned the MJX Hyper go 14209 shocks, lovely easy job as this model has full hex hardware refilled with 1000 cst in front and 2000 cst in rear, i was surprised to see each shock was filled to same correct level from factory
Popular Post TommyC
Another breakage. 3rd one in as many outings. Snapped a front A-arm, 2 shock shafts and lost 2 springs on the Outcast. So that’s now on the bench with the baja and hyper. However the Senton has been out every one of those times and taken everything I’ve thrown at it. The front and rear bumpers have a break each but they’re still doing their job. Definitely my favourite car currently. At least my gps protector passed its first test on the outcast. Edited February 9 by TommyC
Stormbringer
looks like you had a great time what did you do to break it tho ?
TommyC
We were sending them at the bmx track. Big dirt jumps. I should have stopped after I noticed the front one had snapped but we’d only been out 5 mins. So I thought I’d try some speed runs on the grass but couldn’t control it properly and I hit a metal rail. Game over. Had fun watching my son with the senton though. First time he’s had decent go with a fast 1/10.

TommyC
I thought it was pretty tame compared to what I put it through in the past! I’ve already got some RPM front arms for it so hopefully £20 or so for some springs and shafts and she’s sorted. unless there’s an alternative? Arrma don’t seem to do a hop up shock for these 4s rigs.

I mean the 6s shocks do look beefy might be worth a shout and you can get them off a RC breakers for cheap I would hope. Dunno what the difference In length is.
