As I was up early and done all my “chores” and with the Mrs out for a Tattoo I decided to run a nitro properly for the first time in maybe 10-15 years. 
 

Luckily, this Revo 2.5R seems very reliable. 3 tanks without a hitch

Took the little LC out this morning, ran great until the end of the second pack when the slipper clutch backed off enough to stop play .

 

Also had the PTG-2 out for its second run with some changes to the suspension setup.

Fitted the Muzzoom Models replica Team Tanaplan adjustment front suspension arms to the Procat, now I can adjust the camber angle at the front.

I made a second Li-ion 26650 battery pack so its 2S 1p 4200mah , its light and compact and unlike a lipo you can safely take these down to around 2.2v per cell

i now have 2 of these packs.

I am tempted to make a 21700 2S 2P pack that would have around 7000mah, but how am i gonna use 7000 in a day in a crawler

This pack cost me £16.25 to make

i dont tend to do how to`s but plenty on youtube as a lot of rc flyers tend to use the Li-ion in planes, just look at making 2S 18650 battery one thing you do need a hot soldering iron

Started to build my son a big rock out of 3s parts I have laying around

Replaced the plastic rod-ends with ally versions. These are straight, not kinked like the stockers, but with a shove they went on. 

 

A side impact to the bottom of the rim is enough to rip the plastic rod-end off of the upper arm. Hopefully these will stop that happening......... or just rip the whole arm off?

To be honest, couldn't figure it out and there were no instructions. They weren't that expensive, so I'll just replace when they're worn.

A very early and quick run with the Mini B.   First time I have run it properly and it is pretty quick!  The early dew meant for lots of wet grass clippings though which it scooped up.

 

Not something I will take out loads but a lot of fun for the relative cheap price.

Had a quick fly with the mini 2 after work. Its super easy to use however I'm struggling to fully trust it won't just fly away.

Did a couple of things on the Tamiya, not a fan of these things as they are only just above toy grade, but my son likes driving it so needs must.

Threw on some cheap generic alloy shocks which I had laying in a drawer, they fit after adding fluid and some fettling.  Movement feels better now and no slop in the upper and lower ball mounts.

Also made some shock tower braces out of scrap alloy pieces to remove some of the chassis flex now it has shocks that have some resistance.

 

 

Also made a lower bulkhead brace out of aluminium and tied it into the chassis in a few places.  Its certainly stiffened up the front end. 

 

 

 

If it breaks instead on the front plastic piece I can always replace it and then add another alloy brace between the two.

I still need to make the upper brace for the front bulkhead, I might tie it in to the lower one or fix it to the chassis at other points.

Chassis swapped and rebuilt the Carnage after destroying it last week. Shiny new ally front hinge pin mounts are a nice upgrade. 
 

My mate gave me an old bumper from a Senton (maybe) and I modified it to fit the Carnage. Looks absolutely ridiculous but should offer some decent bashing protection. 
 

Cut up an old Carnage bumper to act as a bracket for mount the new one, and turned down a bit of delrin rod as a brace against the shock tower. 
 

 

Should provide a lot more front impact protection, which should help at the pump track… nothing like pile driving into the back of a double. 
 

 

 

Although the bumper is now solidly mounted to the shock tower, I don’t think it’ll stress it too much. There’s a lot of flexibility in the front of the bumper, so hopefully that’ll take up the majority of the impacts without stressing the shock tower too much. If it starts breaking things up there I’ll revisit it and come up with a flexible mount.

Mr Muscle drain cleaner, it only takes about 5 mins for the anodising to melt away, Ive still got polish the parts yet though 👍

Built up a second (hopefully running Revo 3.3R)

 

This now has the TSM/Optidrive/Reverse set up so is (to my knowledge, 2022 Spec)
