humperdingle
Hi guys, i've just got back into RC cars recently, but my wee girl is interested in getting an RC boat. There is a boating lake nearby (about 5 acres), which is in a public park. Ducks, geese, seagulls etc. Can I get an RC boat and use it there (responsibly of course) without getting any sort of hassle? Are there certain laws or rules for these things? And can anybody point me toward any links on the subject? Cheers for any advice.
hydro
alot of public and private lakes dont allow the use of nitro or petrol boats because of contamination

1uke
How can anyone possibly complain? if its a quiet electric boat especially if driven respectfully. Sounds fun!! I have considered doing the same as there's a big reservoir/boating lake near me. So I'm also interested in the answer to this.
hydro
as long as theres no signes stating no use of rc boats then your good to go i was told this by the local plod who often does the rounds on the lake near me

Probably complain that we're stressing the ducks or something equally silly. as long as theres no signes stating no use of rc boats then your good to go i was told this by the local plod who often does the rounds on the lake near me I might contact the local police, actually. That way, I could inform any complainants that they'd be wasting police time. Just wondered if anything is "Written down", as opposed to word of mouth? humperdingle
Actually... Just found this page: http://www.rc-airplane-world.com/rc-boat-clubs-uk.html And there is a club using the very same lake (or "pond" as they call it!) Bit of a result! wastegate
Just check you don't need a permit as you do on our local lake.
Nitroholic
If there is a local club, then get in contact with them. Even if it's just a bit of fun...you never know...the boat for 'your little girl' might end up as 'and a boat for me too' You might end up joining
