traxxas 1/16th servo questions

Gaz!

Recommended Posts

hi, been to my lhs today and saw some savox micro servos which look to be the same size as the traxxas ones, asked the guy and he didn`t have a clue so, will these fit or do they need modding to fit??

i run savox servos in my scx10`s and found them superb so naturally wanted to go that route with my 1/16th too.

also, is it worth going twin servo or not? i can see the use for 2 on the 1/10 summit etc. but on a 1/16th, would that be overkill??

thanks for all your help, gaz :good:

My servo gave up on me last weekend so I've been researching a replacement today. This might be useful....

Stock servo size:

Length: 29.5mm (1.2")

Width: 14mm (0.55")

Height: 29mm (1.1")

The Hitec 85MG and 82MG both fit without mod but you would need a servo horn to run either of these (a Ofna OFN10732 or Dynamite DYN2560). Or modify one of the horns that comes with the 85MG:

82MG Size: 29.8 x 12.0 x 29.6mm (1.17 x 0.47 x 1.16")

85MG Size: 29mm x 13mm x 30mm (1.14" x 0.51" x 1.18")

The KO PROPO PDS-3101 should fit without the need for a servo horn, but due to where the wire comes out of the case you would have to mod the chassis to allow room for the wire.

I've not installed or tested any of these, this info is just from what I've read. I'm still not sure which one to go for.

If you find a Savox that fits, I would be interested to know.

I can confirm the below, I am running a hitect 85mg with my Merv and it works perfectly, the horns that come with the servo need very little modification.

the hitec 85mg will work with no mods to the chassis you just need the servo arm for that servo.

my lil bro is using that in his mini revo with no probs
