  1. Why not a D3 clone from eBay with all the bling already on it? I'm thinking about getting one too
  2. I'm in Devon and just wondered if there are any drift tracks within a reasonable distance, if like to get myself a nice chassis and get into this but don't fancy going alone as these sort of things are always more fun with a group
  3. the car had its first outing in the local village hall on polished wood floor, the hard plastic tyres were a bit too loose, driveable but loose, I put The old rubber racing tyres on and it was great! Much faster, Plenty of slide but still able to lay some power down, I'm guessing there's a flavour of tyre for all surfaces, but that wood was slippery so needed soft rubber, would like to hear from a few others on this subject, quiet in here isn't it?
  4. I'm brand new to this, see my tamiya thread, on Tuesday evening the car had its first outing in the local village hall on polished wood floor, the hard plastic tyres were a bit too loose, driveable but loose, I put The old rubber racing tyres on and it was great! Much faster, Plenty of slide but still able to lay some power down, I'm guessing there's a flavour of tyre for all surfaces, but that wood was slippery so needed soft rubber, would like to hear from a few others on this subject, quiet in here isn't it?
  5. Little update: Had a treat from asiatees today! These guys are fast! Ally prop and ally hex's I also ordered the correct esc for the sensored motor and now it's running smooth, other than the rattly dogbones, I'm trying to resist the urge to throw bling at it because I can see myself buying a D3 in the near future but the prop had to be done and the hex's? Well I couldn't just have one item coming such a long way Thanks to hammy I've found the bodyshell I want and it will be back in stock in the next few weeks (Xmas present to me) Now I need to find some stealth body mounts so can fit the new shell without boring holes in it just in case I do put this chassis back into retirement by getting a dedicated drifter
  6. Found a Russian site that lists all the bodies but doesn't appear to accept PayPal Do they have an eBay shop? I can't find it
  7. Looks excellent got a link?
  8. Where did you get the shell?
  9. Well I drilled the hubs today and have got a bit more lock to play with I might end up with an e30 shell but I own 2x 1:1 e36's so would really like to find one if anyone can help, there's a guy on Instagram that's done an e36 touring I've tried to contact him but no reply yet
  10. Thanks for the help I'm desperately trying to find an e36 bmw bodyshell but I can't find one anywhere Preferably a tamiya but I'll consider anything!
  11. Well the reciever arrived today so I've been doing figure 8's from the front room to the kitchen The cogging of the motor at low rpm is annoying I guess that's my fault for not getting a sensored esc, I might have to do something about that Difficult to get much feel for it in such a small space but I'm looking forward to going to the village hall on Tuesday night (indoor Heli club) and blasting this around with a bit more room
  12. Hi guys I've just dug out my TA02 after approximately 20 years of gathering dust, It started life as a repsol cosworth and was well used when I was 13-14 years old I spent hours blasting it up and down the street and a lot of time and money making it faster, Now at 33 I've just decided it's time to do something with it so a drifter is the plan I thought it might be nice to have a modern power system so lipo and brushless it is The cossie shell didn't survive the years sadly and it is now wearing an Aston Martin shell with a rear spoiler from an R34 skyline shell that also didn't make it The first thing to do was purchase some drift wheels and tyres as the old grippies I used to use will be no use here and the wheels had no offset so were a bit lost in the arches These have a 10mm offset and look much better This lot arrived this morning Turnigy Trackstar 17.5t motor Turnigy Trackstar 60a esc Turnigy Nanotech 4200mah round stick pack Hopefully this will wake it up a bit I have the speed tuned gear set in using the 66t spur and a 25t pinion but I'm wondering if stock would be more useful as I'm not looking for outright speed any more, opinions guys? After a bit of reading here I found the diff locking method so removed the balls and found some diff washers from an old F201 that looked just the job (on the right here) I fitted them against the gear and reassembled the diff using blue threadlock on the threads to hopefully hold it all together, seems ok I have a one way diff in the front which I bought years ago so I'm glad to see that's best for my intentions of drifting, Here is how it stands at the moment just awaiting a reciever as I sold mine with the F201 (doh!) I need a faster servo and probably more lock on the steering if anyone can shed some light on what I need to do I'll be grateful
  13. I'll add some pics when I get started on it [emoji41] Are people happy for me to tag my stuff on this thread or should I make my own?
  14. Hi I'm brand new here Just pulled my 20 year old ta02 out of hibernation and looking to make a drifter out of it, is anyone still using theirs?
