  1. Should be rear wheel drive so front wheels shouldn't be spinning at all as there's no power to them. You haven't put the body on the wrong way have you? Ignore me, I missed original post it's a mIni you have which are 4wd
  2. Not 100% sure as i got it on a 1/12th banger but i think it's one of these http://www.kamtec.co.uk/epages/BT4645.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/BT4645/Products/K0157
  3. During this Covid 19 thingy I decided to get mine out and dust off the cobwebs and have a few bashes in the back garden 😆 It's been running quite well apart from the run when the gearbox come apart resulting in diff coming unassembled. Somehow the gearbox had last a few screws. I've now fitted Traxxas Hawk/Eagle rims I had spare. Rears fitted fine but had to put a few spacers on front axle (old bushings). I've also trimmed some plastic off steering knuckle and wishbone to get more steering lock.
  4. They're Schumacher V2's, (the fronts are the harder blue and the rear are softer yellow compound) most model shops will have them or can get them as they're quite common. There's quite a lot of stadium Truck tyres around, just check out the various websites for 2.2 truck tyres You won't find any wheels that fit properly, I've tried It's not modded that much in those pictures just moved the shock position (which FTX now sell a kit for anyway but it's easy to do without) Since that up date I've modded it a bit more just to make it stronger, like using HPI rear axles as the FTX ones kept bending (I think I had to use HPI driveshafts too if I remember rightly)
  5. I believe it is £12 none members and £10 members Practice days (normally every weekend that a series isn't on) is £7 a day none members or £5 for the weekend for members https://www.facebook.com/groups/218658538147750/
  6. There's normally 6 or 7 sometimes more
  7. Although NDOR (Notts and Derby Off Road) is a 1/8th track I managed to get a few others interested in putting together our own heat of Stadium Trucks for Round 3 of their Summer Series. Eight competitors with mainly budget priced Stadium Trucks took to the track for 4 rounds of 7 minute heats and the 15 minute final. We had 1 HPI Firestorm 1 ECX Circuit 1 Durango DEST210 2 Associated T5m 2 Thunder Tiger Phoenix (although had lots of Associated T3 parts fitted) 1 Team C 1 FTX Siege Yes I know that's 9 but the Siege was my spare truck which I had to use for the last round of qualifying and final as the Durango lost it's front wheel and axle after the first lap in qualifying meaning I had to finish that race on 3 wheels and with a rear tyre coming off...it was fun to say the least. Qualifying was shared between the T5m's of Brandon and Phil Young with the only other mid motored truck, my Durango not doing well at all firstly having receiver issues and then losing a wheel, and then another wheel The final also went to one of the three people travelling from out of the region as Young Brandon took a fantastic win with his T5m, the closest my reserve truck the FTX Siege could get was a lap behind followed by another one of the travellers, Reece with his Team C in third another lap further back. All an all a great first ever Stadium Truck heat at NDOR and hoping we can add to the success on the 24th July at Round 4. The fantastic weather is already booked
  8. Great day at NDOR for the Stadium Trucks, it was round 1 or their summer series. Only myself and Tom ran Stadiums this time but we're hoping to get more interest before long The track started off very slick but get better and better as the day went on and the sun came out. From the four qualifying rounds we both broke down in the second one as Tom had ESC trouble and my UJ came apart. The other 3 runs were reasonably well although i did have a front wishbone mount break in round 4 and finished the last lap and a half with the front wishbone flapping around, had that not happened I'd have got a ten lapper easily. Final started well and I had a good lead from Tom but a few mistakes and he caught up, then my front camber link pulled off but Tom crashed on the triple and I caught up on the last lap and in the end after FIFTEEN MINUTES there was only 100th of a second between us with me taking the win, although Tom had waited for me earlier so we could cross the line together All in all a fantastic day, best day's racing I've ver had at NDOR
  9. Just two days left to book in, we still need 3 more Stadium Trucks for this event otherwise we'll be stopping at home
  10. Myself and a guy I know called Tom took a run over to Notts and Derby Off Road (NDOR) for some valuable practice ahead of the "National Event" at ARCS raceway next Sunday http://www.msuk-forum.co.uk/forums/topic/216027-stadium-trucks-racing-at-arcs-raceway-on-17th-april/ Here's a few pics and vid from our day
  11. ARCS RACEWAY 17th April This is RD 1 of the SC Nationals that are also accommodating STADIUM TRUCKS This is near Colchester in Essex and I know it's a bit of a drive for a few but I'm guessing there's some people on here who aren't too far away? Track address and postcode is: Old London Road Marks Tey Colchester Essex CO6 1HD Event Format - Saturday 16th Open Practice: 9:00am onwards Event Format - Sunday 17th Gates open: 8:00am Bookin from: 8:00am to 9:15am (track open for free practice) Drivers Briefing: 9:30am Heats Start: 9:45am Race Format 4 rounds of qualifying heats 10 Drivers per heat maximum 3 finals (best 2 to count) Meeting Details Male and Female toilets will be available on site Running water will be available on site Hot food will be available on site from the Arc Raceway Diner Please see the Arc Raceway fact sheet for further venue information http://www.ukshortcourse.com/media/Events/ARC2016.pdf Myself and Tom are making the 3 hour trip there but we need FIVE for our own heat of Stadium Trucks, so who's up for it? Get yourself booked in ASAP as booking in closes on 13th April, if a heat can't be run money will be refunded, but I'm sure we can get at least 3 more people can't we? Free practice on the Saturday for all those who do book on line. It probably won't be ultra competitive, Tom has a vintage truck and I have a budget priced FTX truck so don't think you won't be competitive either, but it sure will be a good laugh and a lot of fun. And to see a heat of ST's running at a National Truck event for the first time since the early 2000's would be really good http://www.ukshortcourse.com/entry/
  12. I see this is a very old thread but I have started RACING both the Firestorm and the Siege in anger. The firestorm on whole has been good and strong and the only real issues have been water in the electrics, nothing has broke and it handled pretty well once I had the new esc set up right. Due to running the Firestorm the Seige didn't get run much outdoors, I managed 3 races and was well off the pace because I was trying to use the Steerwheel tranny that it cam with and really couldn't get on with it, the esc wasn't much good either, just rolled on too much off throttle During the 3 races i did run I didn't break anything only the front body mount, which had also being broke during practice so i was now on a repaired one which I thought I'd made stronger, however it broke while racing indoors on carpet so now has been replaced with a Firestorm one for strength. It is a pretty good fit and looks like it belongs there. other upgrades I've made are gluing a long M3 grub screw into the front axle so I can use a threadlock nut instead of a screw on the wheels Moving the shocks to the back of the shock tower so they aren't slanting at a ridiculous angle. You can get a kit off FTX to do this now but I just used a longer machine screw and some Traxxas shock mountings and an M3 nut and a couple of washers...simples Once the shocks have been moved the body has to be moved forward so it fits, it does look better forward though I've raced it 3 times now indoors, the first time i was mixing it with my Firestorm so it didn't get the full 5 races but apart from grip issues it handles well. A week later I tried some different tyres, Shumacher Vee 2's in Yellow on the back and Blue Vee 2's with the vee cut out on the front. When ot went it was all over the place in the end I bent two new rear axles and broke a front wishbone which took woith it a tie rod which bent and a shock bottom that broke. All replaired for last week and i wondered if the breakages were a one off and it seemed they were as I managed all 6 races without any trouble and it handled like a dream, very close to the 4wd Micro buggies we'd been put in a heat with. I have high hopes for it at the Kidderminster summer series. At last count there were 14 stadium trucks booked in so a good number to how it compares.
  13. Weather looks good for tomorrow, should be a good day Gates open at 7am. Booking in from 7:30 to 8:30, Drivers briefing 8:45, First heat on the track at 9:00, 1 round of timed practice 3 rounds of heats then into finals. £12 non members, £10 members
  14. Yellow mini spikes in the dry and at high grip tracks and blue Vee 2's for low grip tracks, i.e. wet or sandy Blue Vee 2's on front with the V's cut off Seems to work OK Losi step pins used to be favourites back in the day
  15. Apologies for the repeat posts, it actually told me something went wrong when i posted and to try again, so i did a few times
