  1. Hello, I have been running a HoBao Hyper 7 TQ2, with this engine in from new for about a year now without any problems. It was correctly run in and I use 20% Big Bang fuel. Everything standard with a new exhaust sealing ring fitted. Its had regular use and has now developed a fault. It starts easily and runs fine for 5 minutes or so ( good throttle response and max revs with nice smoke indicating its not leaning out) then stops responding to the throttle control. Checked the needle settings and both close to specs recommended. Checked for dirt and leaks on needle seals. Either the engine is now worn perhaps or a fault I am not seeing has occurred/ Any suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks, David
  2. Hello, Well I got the shims and without changing anything (with the carb at factory settings), I could not believe that it started first time! The top of piston and underside of head were really clean as the buggy was reputed to have only had 12-15 tanks through it which on all round condition looked correct. Cant undersatnd why the head had been taken off and shims taken outy!?!?!!? So, I can only assume that on this particular engine and with the Big Bang 20% fuel the shims did make a difference. Run it a couple of times now and its really nice idle, runs at correct temp range with great pick up and revs out well. It will get sold to fund a second/spare Truggy sometime....this time a new one without any hassles. Thanks for all the advice everyone. David
  3. Reply, Hello thanks for the reply. I checked that the shims were not on so will get some from Modelsport and try with starting engine them one of each installed. Fuel flowing fine and even some in carb or down glow plug hole does nothing
  4. Hello, Anyone advise me if a Mach 28 I bought second hand and failed to start might be because there are no cylinder head gaskets fitted. It really is fairly new and should but even the local model shop could not get it to even fire. All compression and other checks on carb/factory settings check out fine with good fuel being used. Would having no rings stop it from firing??? The manuals on line show a 0.1mm and a 0.3mm gasket fitted I think. Any advice appreciated. Thanks, David
  5. Hello, Now had the model shop look at it and they cannot get it to fire either. They have checked fuel delivery and carb and its getting fuel OK. . At a loss as what to do and may have to sell it for spares/repair!!! David
  6. Hello, Could someone help. I have purchased a second hand Hyper 7 Mach 28 6-port and it refuses to even fire. Checked carb at factory settings and the plug is 'crackling' so sure its not that. I cannot even get it to splutter or show any signs of firing..not even a 'pop' Have put fuel direct into carb so sure its reaching the engine. Good compression as its a little used buggy. Tried preheating engine with no effect. Any help appreciated as I have run glow engines on model planes for years so am familiar with helping ahrd to start engines get going..usually!!!! Thanks, David
